Abstract

Patente de Invenção <B>"PURIFICAçãO DE UMA CORRENTE DE METANOL"<D> O acetaldeído pode ser removido, de maneira eficiente, a partir de uma corrente de metanol contaminada, usando-se um processo de destilação, em que uma corrente de solvente, que compreende um composto polar relativamente pesado, tal como água ou propileno glicol, é utilizada como um solvente de destilação extrativa. Seguindo a separação do composto polar, a partir da corrente de fundo, obtida por destilação extrativa, o metanol purificado pode ser reciclado para uso como um solvente de reação em um processo de epoxidação de olefina.
