Abstract

"POLIéSTER CRISTALINO LìQUIDO, COMPOSIçãO DE MOLDAGEM DE POLIéSTER CRISTALINO LìQUIDO, E ARTIGO MOLDADO". Descreve-se uma classe selecionada de poliésteres cristalinos líquidos e composições de moldagem com os poliésteres e fibras de vidro. Os poliésteres cristalinos líquidos consistem essencialmente de (i) resíduos de diácido consistindo essencialmente de (i) resíduos de ácido ciclohexanodicarboxílico e (ii) outros resíduos de diácido selecionados dentre resíduos de ácido tereftálico, resíduos de ácido 2,6-naftalenodicarboxílico, ou uma mistura dos membros, (2) resíduos de diol consistindo essencialmente de resíduos de hidroquinona, resíduos de 4,4'-bifenol, ou uma mistura dos mesmos, e opcionalmente (3) resíduos de ácido p-hidroxibenzóico. Na definição acima, os moles de resíduos de diol são iguais aos moles de resíduos de diácido e o total de porcentagens molares de (1), (2) e (3) é igual a 100. Os poliésteres cristalinos líquidos tem pontos de fusão determinados por calorimetria de varredura diferencial igual ou menor que 375°C.
