Abstract
"APARELHO E MéTODO PARA GRANULAR MATERIAL FUNDIDO". Escória ou resíduo metálico fundido é granulado por meio de água, alimentando-se um tanque granulador (11a, 11b) com escória ou resíduo metálico fundido através de uma batéia (10a, 10b). O tanque (11a, 11b) compreende paredes inclinadas, sendo equipado com vertedouros de descarga ajustáveis (22b) e um ou mais bicos pulverizadores (19a, 19b). Os bicos (19a, 19b) são posicionados de forma que a água que emitem se choque substancialmente com toda a escória ou resíduo metálico fundido que alimenta o tanque granulador (11a, 11b). O tanque de granulação (11a, 11b) é opcionalmente revestido com um material polimérico para reduzir o potencial de explosões freáticas. O granulador é também opcionalmente equipado com uma tomada de gás (16b) que pode ser conectada diretamente à torre de têmpera (14b) que, por sua vez, pode ser conectada a um sistema de ventilação induzida (15). Molten slag or metallic residue is granulated by means of water, feeding a granulator tank (11a, 11b) with molten slag or metallic residue through a slat (10a, 10b). The tank (11a, 11b) comprises sloping walls and is equipped with adjustable spillways (22b) and one or more spray nozzles (19a, 19b). The nozzles (19a, 19b) are positioned so that the water they emit collides substantially with all the molten slag or metallic residue that feeds the granulator tank (11a, 11b). The granulation tank (11a, 11b) is optionally coated with a polymeric material to reduce the potential for groundwater explosions. The granulator is also optionally equipped with a gas outlet (16b) that can be connected directly to the quenching tower (14b) which, in turn, can be connected to an induced ventilation system (15). The granulator is preferably adapted with an explosion relief opening (27b) consisting of resistant channels (28b) with explosion relief opening (27b) preferably coated with a polymeric material (29b).
