Abstract
OF A VOLTAGE ELEMENT FOR USE AS A TENDON FOR A VOLTAGE LEG PLATFORM" <D>. A termination of a tension element (1), for use as a tendon or rope for a tension leg platform. The tension element (1) consists of a plurality of carbon fiber filaments accumulated in one or more strands (2), in which the filaments move against each other. A coating (3) is provided around the wires. Each wire (2) is terminated in a receiving element (6) and the receiving element (6) is suspended in a recess (12) in a suspension element (7). The strands (1) are spread over an area of a bundle strand for an arrangement of the individual filaments extending apart from each other. This dispersion area is held together by a protective cone (10) that prevents dispersion from moving down the wire. The individual carbon fiber filaments (2) are inserted into respective cavities (4) in a receiving element (3) and attached to it with a solidifying substance (5). The cavities in the receiving body (3) can be of direct passage, or they can be without exit. In addition, the cavities (4) can be of different configurations, from a hole of uniform diameter, a conical cavity facing up and down, or a cavity gradually staggered. By securing the carbon fiber filaments in this manner, good anchoring of each individual filament is ensured, as well as a longitudinal adjustment of the filaments, which gives a uniformly distributed load on the wire (1), and that only major axial forces are applied to the individual carbon fiber filaments (2).
