A invenção refere-se a formulações, por exemplo comprimidos revestidos com película, contendo oxacarbazepina e a processos para a produção das referidas do formulações. Os comprimidos revestidos com película têm um núcleo de comprimido compreendendo uma dose terapeuticamente eficaz de oxacarbazepina em uma forma finamente triturada tendo um tamanho de partícula médio de 4 a 12 <109>m (valor médio), e um revestimento externo permeável hidrófilo.
