Abstract
Uma vez que todos os canais são reutilizados em todas as antenas, todos os canais são reutilizados diversas vezes em todas as células, aumentando muito o número de terminais móveis que podem operar sem reduzir o tamanho da célula ou exigir estações base adicionais.MOBILE CELL TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK. a mobile cellular telecommunication network is described which has several cells between which reuse regions are defined, each served by several directional antennas each at the respective base stations located in the vicinity of the reuse regions. means are provided to allocate all communication channels with satellite on all antennas in all regions of reuse. additional means are provided to determine microcell boundaries within the reuse regions, a plurality, equal to or greater than the plurality of antennas, of microcells being served by each antenna in the reuse region. an additional means is provided to allocate for each microcell a group of communication channels with satellite in an orthogonal reuse pattern, within the reuse region. means are provided to assign a position to mobile terminals within each reuse region. a means is also provided to allocate communication channels with satellite for use by a mobile terminal of the group allocated to the microcell which contains its assigned position. Since all channels are reused on all antennas, all channels are reused several times in all cells, greatly increasing the number of handsets that can operate without reducing the cell size or requiring additional base stations.
