Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA REMOçãO DE MATERIAL VOLáTIL" . Processo para remoção de material gasoso de um polímero termoplástico, contendo impurezas gasosas em um aparelho tendo uma zona de fusão, uma zona de misturação e uma zona de pressão reduzida, compreendendo: a) (i) adicionar um agente de compressão granular diretamente ou através de um lote mestre ao polímero antes da introdução do polímero na zona de fusão, o referido agente de compressão sendo adicionado numa quantidade de cerca de 1 a cerca 4% em peso com base no peso do polímero ou (ii) adicionar um agente de compressão gasoso à zona de misturação; b) fundir o polímero na zona de fusão; c) misturar o polímeros fundido e o agente de compressão na zona de misturação sob pressão suficiente para manter o agente de compressão na mistura; d) a uma temperatura suficiente para decompor ou expandir, (i) decompor o agente de compressão granular na zona de misturação e/ou na zona de pressão reduzida ou ii) expandir o agente de compressão gasoso na zona de pressão reduzida em que o agente de compressão em seu estado decomposto ou expandido desenvolve células de espuma no polímero em fusão; e) na zona de pressão reduzida, reduzir a pressão na superfície do polímero em fusão em uma proporção suficiente para remover essencialmente todas as impurezas gasosas; f) opcionalmente, repetir as etapas (c) (d) e (e) pelo menos uma vez; e g) recuperar o polímero em um, estado essencialmente sem formação de espuma.
