Abstract
Patente de Invenção: <B>"MéTODO E APARELHO PARA O FORNECIMENTO DE UMA CORRENTE DE VIDRO RECOBERTO"<D>. Aparelho para formação de uma corrente de vidro recoberto tendo um vidro de núcleo interno circundado por um vidro de revestimento externo que inclui uma bica (14) para o fornecimento de vidro de núcleo de uma primeira fonte através de um primeiro orifício (24). Um segundo orifício (30) é verticalmente espaçado abaixo e alinhado com o primeiro orifício, e é circundado por uma câmara anular (32) que comunica-se com o segundo orifício através de uma abertura entre os primeiro e segundo orifícios. Um tubo (34) fornece vidro de revestimento da abertura de saída (36) de uma bica de vidro de revestimento (38) para a câmara anular, em uma tal maneira que o vidro flui por gravidade através dos orifícios das primeira e segunda fontes para formar a corrente de vidro recoberto. Um tubo oco (40) dentro da bica de vidro de revestimento é posicionado com relação à abertura da saída da bica para medir o fluxo de vidro de revestimento através da abertura de saída e tubo de fornecimento para a câmara anular circundando os orifícios. O interior do tubo oco é acoplado a uma fonte (60 ou 72) de gás sob pressão, de forma a manter o interior do tubo, e o interior da queda fina de vidro de revestimento através da abertura de saída da bica, em uma pressão acima da pressão ambiente circundando a bica de vidro de revestimento. Essa pressão de gás elevada dentro da queda do vidro de revestimento reverte o diferencial de pressão entre o interior e exterior da abertura de saída da bica, de forma que qualquer tendência para o ar migrar através do material refratário circundando a abertura de saída e para dentro da queda do vidro de revestimento é eliminada.
