Abstract
"ELEMENTO DE VIGA". Uma longarina ou elemento de viga para uso em construção, possuindo um par de flanges opostos de perfil C e uma alma corrugada. Protuberâncias da alma, estendidas lateralmente, reforçam o elemento de viga pelo enrijecimento da alma e aumentando as forças de suporte de carga, que devem ser suportadas pelo elemento de viga sem esmagamento. O perfil C dos flanges permite a soldagem dos flanges às protuberâncias da alma, para reduzir o tamanho dos elementos de compressão não contraventados e sem reforços, permitindo a construção dos elementos de viga de uma determinada resistência utilizando material de chapa mais fina.
