Abstract
<B>"PROCESSO DE PURIFICAçãO DE CONCENTRADO DE NIóBIO E/OU TâNTALO"<D>. Usualmente, os concentrados de nióbio e/ou tântalo contém, além dos óxidos de nióbio, tântalo, e ferro, algumas impurezas na forma de óxido de fósforo, de enxofre, de chumbo e de estanho que precisam ser removidas para que possam ser usados na produção de ferronióbio e/ou outros produtos de nióbio e/ou tântalo, condizentes com as especificações vigentes. As novidades do processo de sinterização de concentrado da presente invenção são: a) Permitir reduzir o teor de enxofre contido no mesmo, não na forma de sulfetos, mas na forma de sulfatos; b) Calcinar o concentrado flutuado, abaixando o teor de umidade e perda ao fogo para valores condizentes com o seu processamento posterior; c) Diminuir consideravelmente a quantidade de finos que são carregados pelos gases na etapa posterior de processamento para a eliminação de fósforo, chumbo e estanho - pirometalurgia.<B> "NONBIO AND / OR TALENT CONCENTRATE PURIFICATION PROCESS" <D>.
