Abstract
Patente de Invenção: CABO RETARDANTE DE RAIO. é provido um cabo que retarda raios. O cabo inclui pelo menos um condutor interno, que pode ser um condutor de energia ou condutor de sinais. Um condutor de estrangulamento ou controle é enrolado helicoidalmente em torno do condutor interno. Caso um raio caia próximo ao cabo ou um dispositivo que esteja ligado ao cabo, tal como uma antena, o condutor de controle ou estrangulamento apresenta uma elevada impedância à corrente causada pelo raio e irá impedir que a corrente do raio percorra o condutor de controle ou estrangulamento, portanto penetrando no condutor interno, desse modo impedindo a ocorrência de danos ao condutor interno e quaisquer equipamentos eletrónicos a ele associados. De preferência, um escudo ou proteção é também helicoidalmente enrolado em torno do condutor interno, adjacente ao condutor de controle ou estrangulamento, em uma direção oposta à do condutor de controle ou estrangulamento, de tal forma que o ângulo formado pelo cruzamento do condutor de controle ou estrangulamento e o escudo ou proteção seja de aproximadamente 90°, para bloquear o componente de campo magnético da descarga do raio.
