Abstract

Patente de Invenção para "COMPOSIçõES PROTETORAS TéRMICAS CONTENDO PLATINA". Uma composição intumescente para proteção de um substrato contra fogo e extremos térmicos, inclui um ligante de polímero contendo uma pequena quantidade de platina, preferivelmente na forma de um complexo de coordenação. O ligante é um polímero base sem silicone, e a platina age como um catalisador sob as condições de fogo, para proteger o carvão animal, e aumentar a vida do carvão animal, aumentando, desse modo, o tempo de proteção. O ligante é preferivelmente um epoxi, mais preferivelmente um polisulfeto de epoxi. A platina é preferivelmente misturada com níquel, mais preferivelmente como um complexo de níquel-platina amónia.
