Abstract
"COMPOSIçãO CERâMICA". As composições cerâmicas, que são de particular valor no manuseio ou vazamento do aço, por exemplo, como materiais de revestimento ou para produzir bocais ou coberturas usados em vazamento contínua, compreendem uma mistura de partículas de nitreto de boro, diboreto de zircónio e pelo menos um outro material refratário, ligados entre sí por carbono produzido pela decomposição de um aglutinante orgânico, tal como uma resina ou piche. Ou outro material refratário pode ser, por exemplo, um metal, um óxido, um carboneto, um boreto ou nitreto refratário. O óxido de zircónio, contendo composições compreendendo 5-70% em peso de nitreto de boro, 5-60% em peso de diboreto de zircónio e 5-80% em peso de óxido de zircónio, são particularmente adequadas para formar pelo menos aquela parte de um bocal que, em uso, fica na linha de escória de um vaso de aço em fusão. As composições contendo óxido de alumínio, compreendendo 5-70% em peso de nitreto de boro, 15-50% em peso de diboreto de zircónio e 10-70% em peso de óxido de alumínio, são particularmente adequadas para formar o lado interno dos bocais, visto que elas resistem ao acúmulo de alumina e evitam a obstrução dos bocais."CERAMIC COMPOSITION". Ceramic compositions, which are of particular value in handling or casting steel, for example, as coating materials or for producing nozzles or covers used in continuous casting, comprise a mixture of boron nitride particles, zirconium diboride and at least another refractory material, linked together by carbon produced by the decomposition of an organic binder, such as resin or tar. Or other refractory material can be, for example, a refractory metal, oxide, carbide, boride or nitride. Zirconium oxide, containing compositions comprising 5-70% by weight of boron nitride, 5-60% by weight of zirconium diboride and 5-80% by weight of zirconium oxide, are particularly suitable to form at least that part of a nozzle that, in use, is in the slag line of a molten steel vessel. Compositions containing aluminum oxide, comprising 5-70% by weight of boron nitride, 15-50% by weight of zirconium diboride and 10-70% by weight of aluminum oxide, are particularly suitable for forming the inner side of nozzles, as they resist alumina build-up and prevent nozzle clogging.
