Abstract
<B> MéTODO E APARELHO PARA PRODUZIR DIóXIDO DE TITNIO<D>. Processo e reator (10) para reagir vapores de tetracloreto de titânio com oxigênio para produzir dióxido de titânio, em que o oxigênio é introduzido no reator em pelo menos dois pontos, um primeiro conjunto (12) de introdução de gás de oxidação e um segundo conjunto (26) de introdução de gás de oxidação. A temperatura do oxigênio introduzido no reator no segundo conjunto (26) de introdução de gás de oxidação está acima, abaixo ou à mesma temperatura do oxigênio introduzido no primeiro conjunto (12) de introdução de gás de oxidação. O segundo conjunto (26) de introdução de gás de oxidação pode ser localizado antes ou depois que todo o tetracloreto de titânio seja introduzido no reator (10). O tetracloreto de titânio é introduzido no reator (10) a uma temperatura relativamente baixa, abaixo aproximadamente 427C, através de um primeiro conjunto (20) de introdução de tetracloreto de titânio. A temperatura de reação no reator, 10 é de pelo menos aproximadamente 700C.
