Abstract

Patente de Invenção "PROTEìNA ANTIMICROBIANA, COMPOSIçãO, SEQœêNCIA DE DNA RECOMBINANTE, PROMOTOR DE SEQœêNCIA, VETOR, SISTEMA BIOLóGICO, PLANTA, SEMENTES E PROGENITURA, PROCESSO DE COMBATE A FUNGOS OU BACTéRIAS E PROCESSO DE EXTRAçãO PARA A PRODUçãO DE UMA PROTEìNA". Foram caracterizadas proteínas biocidas capazes de serem isoladas de sementes. As proteínas possuem uma seq³ência de aminoácidos contendo o domínio comum de cisteína/glicina de proteínas de planta que se ligam à quitina mas mostram atividade substancialmente melhor contra fungos patogênicos, uma relação mais elevada de aminoácidos básicos para aminoácidos ácidos, e/ou atividade antifúngica que resulta em ramificação de hifales aumentada. São proporcionadas as proteínas antimicrobianas isoladas de Capsidum, Briza e as referidas espécies. As proteínas mostram uma ampla faixa de atividade antifúngica e são ativas contra bactérias gram-positivas. O DNA codificador das proteínas pode ser isolado e incorporado em vetores. As plantas podem ser transformadas com este DNA. As proteínas encontram aplicações farmacêuticas e na agricultura como agentes antibacterianos e antifúngicos. As plantas transgênicas expressando as proteínas mostrarão resistência aumentada contra doenças.
