Abstract

The present invention relates to a breathable, reusable, leak-proof multilayer garment lining with absorbent, antimicrobial, waterproofing and vapor dispersion functions. Such lining is intended to prevent leakage of body fluids such as sweat, blood, vaginal fluids, menstrual fluid, urine, breast milk or post-surgical fluids.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[001] It is a breathable, reusable and leak-proof multilayer garment lining, with absorbent, antimicrobial, waterproofing and vapor dispersion functions.

FUNDAMENTALS OF THE INVENTION

[002] Clothes with functionality provide solutions for consumers and are able to increase well-being and health. Currently, there are several solutions to problems related to the release of body fluids such as sweat, blood, vaginal fluids, menstrual fluid, urine, breast milk or post-surgical fluids.

[003] However, many of these solutions for releasing body fluids do not reflect practical solutions, as they require daily application and reapplication. In addition, disposal after use may reflect on other technical problems for the consumer.

[004] In this way, washable and reusable products to solve the problems of releasing body fluids are desirable by the consumer. Additionally, the high durability of such products is also a desirable factor.

[005] The present invention relates to a breathable, reusable and leak-proof multilayer garment lining. Such lining has as main purpose to avoid leakage of body fluids such as sweat, blood, vaginal fluids, menstrual fluid, urine, breast milk or post-surgical fluids. The lining can be sewn or glued to the garment in order to increase the quality of life and well-being of consumers. Said garments to which the lining can be applied include: women's and men's underwear, shorts, bermuda shorts, skirts, pants, bras, shirts, T-shirts, overalls, body shapers, dresses, men's women's sleepwear and others.

[006] This multilayer lining for clothing has at least four layers, of which at least one has antimicrobial functionality, which is essential to ensure the health and well-being of the user.

[007] The fact that said liner is reusable ensures that the present invention is an economical and hygienic solution for the user, in addition to contributing positively to the environment.

[008] The breathability of the multilayer lining for clothing is essential to maintain the stability of the temperature and the comfort of the garment for the user during use. In addition, the lining has an antimicrobial function that lasts up to 60 washes using a washing machine. In order to preserve its antimicrobial characteristic after several washes, the lining must be cleaned without fabric softener or bleach, in order to guarantee its functions.

[009] US patent application US 2013006288 discloses several types of multilayer clothing linings. In one of its modalities, a lining is revealed with a first layer with an absorption and drainage function; a second antimicrobial layer; a third waterproof and breathable polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) layer; a fourth outer layer of fabric, which protects the third layer and aids in moisture diffusion; and a fifth outer layer of finishing material.

[010] It should be noted that the waterproof layer of the present patent application is composed of breathable thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), while the breathable layer of the American application in question is composed of PTFE. The use of TPU in the waterproof layer provides advantages to the multilayer lining of the present invention, since it has the characteristics of being breathable, promoting vapor dispersion and waterproofing. In addition, the TPU layer used in the claimed multi-layer lining is added to the lining without the use of chemical treatments, being characterized as a less expensive, quick-to-produce and even healthier option, especially for users with allergic problems, due to example. In view of the characteristics described above, the multilayer lining of the present invention is a different technical solution from that described by the aforementioned American patent document.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[011] The present invention relates to a breathable, reusable and leak-proof multilayer garment lining. Such lining is intended to prevent leakage of body fluids such as sweat, blood, vaginal fluids, menstrual fluid, urine, breast milk or post-surgical fluids. Additionally, said multilayer lining has absorbent, antimicrobial, waterproofing and vapor dispersion functions.

[012] The multilayer lining can be sewn or glued to the garment, which include, but are not limited to: women's and men's underwear, shorts, bermuda shorts, skirts, pants, bras, shirts, T-shirts, overalls, body shapers , dresses, women's and men's sleepwear.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[016] The present invention relates to a multilayer clothing lining that can be used in garments, preferably in women's and men's underwear in general.

[017] The multilayer lining of the present invention comprises at least 4 (four) layers, a first layer being A of external finishing material, preferably selected from material from the group comprising cotton, modal, bamboo, viscose, polyester, microfiber, nylon, including combinations with elastane, with lycra and with spandex.

[018] A second layer "B" of natural or synthetic material selected from the group comprising cotton, polyester, bamboo, viscose, tinsel, modal and nylon weighing between 60 and 350 g/m2 and may have a suitcase structure of woven fabric , fleece, plush or microfiber. Said layer is chemically treated with an antimicrobial product, particularly with a product containing silver ions, such as Silpure (product of Thomson Research associates).

[019] The third layer of the multilayer lining, layer "C" is composed of breathable thermoplastic polyurethane of 0.015-0.020mm that is applied without the use of harmful chemicals, such as those present in linings already known in the state of technique.

[020] A fourth inner layer, the “D” layer, is the skin contact layer and can be composed of any fabric that contains appropriate means for absorption, hygiene, drainage, etc.

[021] Layer "C", third layer, is attached to the second layer, layer "B" through a lamination process, with the application of heat. The remaining layers are joined using a specific sewing process.

[022] The combination of waterproof layer "C" and antimicrobial layer "B" promotes greater antimicrobial effectiveness because layer "C" is located at the bottom of the multilayer lining, so that most of the absorbed liquid does not remain in contact with antimicrobial tissue. In addition, the organization of layers “B” and “C” generates greater flexibility during garments that contain the multilayer lining. Furthermore, due to the arrangement of the layers, the lining of the present invention is not very thick and, for this reason, it is the most comfortable lining for the user.

[023] In another embodiment of the present invention, layer "D" is replaced by layers "D1" and "D2". Layer “D2” is an optional layer with an absorbent function, while layer “D1” is the inner layer.

[024] The “D1” layer is the inner layer of the lining that can be composed of 51% of the following materials: modal, viscose, bamboo, carbon or cotton with 90-300gsm. In addition, layer “D1” can be knitted or woven with a special pattern to be created with: (1) larger openings or channels for the liquid in which said channels facilitate the mechanical passage of the liquid, by capillarity, to the next layer. Said liquid includes, but is not limited to, liquids with high viscosity and/or less polarized than water and with (2) 3D texture that provides a greater contact surface towards the body - allowing for faster drying and a drier feel compared to a single or double knit jersey fabric of comparable weight and denier.

[025] The "D2" layer of the present invention is an absorbent layer composed of at least 90% polyester or microfiber with coolplus fiber incorporated with fast absorption technology, fast drying and cooling properties, with 100-300gsm. Coolplus fibers are different from the technologies commonly used to obtain clothes with rapid absorption and drying, since these technologies use chemicals that can escape from the fabric due to washing, as they were developed with rapid absorption and drying functions. Additionally, the coolplus fibers are incorporated directly into the fabric and are more resistant and do not damage or fade over time. Such characteristics help in regulating the temperature, preventing the temperature increase in the lining.

[026] Depending on the purpose of the multilayer lining for clothing, this layer may be optional or be in greater quantities in the lining.

[027] The multilayer lining for clothing is resistant to up to 60 machine washes, with due care, complies with the IS20743 standard, has resistance for 12 h to the waterproof test by applying 500 ml of fluid and is permeable to air.

[028] Those versed in the art will value the knowledge presented here and will be able to reproduce the invention in the presented modalities and in other variants, covered in the scope of the appended claims.

Claims (10)

1. Multilayer clothing lining, the multilayer lining characterized in that it comprises: a first layer (A), a second layer (B), a third layer (C) and a fourth layer (D), the first layer (A) is a outer layer, the second layer (B) is located between the first (A) and third layer (C), the third layer (C) is located between the second layer (B) and the fourth layer (D), the fourth layer (D) is an inner layer and the second layer (B) and the third layer (C) are located between the first layer (A) and the fourth layer (D), the first layer (A) comprises a layer of material of external finishing, the second layer (B) comprises a layer of natural or synthetic material which is treated with an antimicrobial product; the third layer (C) comprises an impermeable layer of breathable thermoplastic polyurethane; and the fourth layer (D) comprises an absorbent and drainable layer that is positioned to be in contact with a wearer's skin, wherein the second layer (B) and the third layer (C) are heat laminated to each other , and the first layer (A) and the fourth layer (D) are connected to each other by sewing and the fourth layer (D) contains a mesh or fabric pattern that includes a) conduits that facilitate the mechanical passage of the liquid and b) a three-dimensional texture. 2. Multilayer lining, according to claim 1, characterized in that the layer (A) of external finishing material comprises a material that is selected from the group comprising cotton, modal, bamboo, viscose, polyester, microfiber, nylon, including combinations with elastane and spandex. 3. Multilayer lining, according to claim 1, characterized in that the natural or synthetic material weighs between 60 and 350 g/m2. 4. Multilayer lining, according to claim 1, characterized in that the natural or synthetic material comprises a material that is selected from the group comprising cotton, polyester, bamboo, viscose, tinsel, modal and nylon. 5. Multilayer lining, according to claim 1, characterized in that the natural or synthetic material comprises a structure that is selected from mesh, woven fabric, fleece, terry or microfiber. 6. Multilayer lining, according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the layer (B) of natural or synthetic material is chemically treated with an antimicrobial product containing silver ions. 7. Multilayer lining, according to claim 1, characterized in that the waterproof layer (C) has a thickness of 0.015-0.020mm. 8. Multilayer lining, according to claim 1, characterized in that the fourth layer (D) comprises a first sublayer (D1) and a second sublayer (D2), the first sublayer (D1) is positioned inside the second sublayer (D2) and the second sublayer (D2) is positioned between the third layer (C) and the first sublayer (D1). 9. Multilayer lining, according to claim 8, characterized in that the first sublayer (D1) is knitted or woven and comprises up to 51% modal, viscose, bamboo, carbon or cotton with 90-300 g/m2. 10. Multilayer lining for clothing, according to claim 8, characterized in that the second sublayer (D2) comprises at least 90% polyester or microfiber with fast-absorbing and drying fiber and has a weight between 100 and 300 g /m2.
