A stop flange (56) extends axially and radially inwardly from a free end of the strip to meet a stop cord (24) over the container neck (18). The stop flange is circumferentially continuous adjacent to the strip and has a spaced free edge of the strip with slots 58 which separate the free edge into separately flexible portions.
