Abstract

"MéTODO PARA FABRICAçãO DE FERRAMENTAS ABRASIVAS LIGADAS COM RESINA". A presente invenção refere-se a um método para produção de artigo abrasivo organicamente ligado que inclui a combinação de um componente de grão abrasivo e um componente de resina à base de fenol. Os componentes combinados são moldados e termicamente curados em uma atmosfera que compreende umidade, onde a atmosfera contata os componentes moldados, desse modo produzindo o grão abrasivo organicamente ligado. O grão abrasivo opcionalmente pode primeiro ser combinado com um composto organossilano, para formar grão abrasivo tratado com organossilano, e então com o componente de resina à base de fenol. Em um exemplo, a resina à base de fenol é termicamente curada na presença de vapor. Artigos abrasivos produzidos através do método da invenção geralmente têm propriedades aperfeiçoadas sob condições de moagem à umidade. Em um exemplo, um artigo abrasivo produzido através do método da invenção inclui amónia em uma quantidade de menos do que cerca de 50 ppm. Em um outro exemplo, um disco de moagem abrasivo produzido através do método da invenção tem uma retenção de resistência maior do que cerca de 57 por cento.
