A presente invenção refere-se a um derivado de ácido benzóico substituído que é representado pela fórmula a seguir (1) e tem uma ação de inibição de NF-kB (na fórmula, R^ 3^, R^ 4^ e R^ 5^ cada um independentemente representam um átomo de hidrogênio, um grupo alquila tendo 1 a 6 carbonos ou um grupo alcóxi tendo 1 a 6 carbonos; R^ 9^ e R^ 10^, cada um, independentemente representam um átomo de hidrogênio, um grupo alquila tendo 1 a 6 carbono(s) ou um grupo acila tendo 2 a 11 carbonos); R^ 2^ representa um grupo hidrocarboneto aromático opcionalmente substituído ou um grupo heterocíclico opcionalmente substituído; e X representa um grupo carboxila que pode ser esterificado ou amidado).
