Abstract
"VIDRO METáLICO PARA USO EM PROCESSOS ELETROQUìMICOS, ELETRODO PARA USO EM UMA CéLULA ELETROQUìMICA, E, PROCESSO PARA A PRODUçãO ELETROQUìMICA DE OXIGêNIO E HIDROGêNIO A PARTIR DE UMA SOLUçãO AQUOSA EM UMA CéLULA ELETROQUìMICA". Eletrodos metálicos amorfos/de vidro metálico produzidos por solidificação rápida (i) tendo uma estrutura que é amorfa ou nanocristalina, (ii) contendo o principal elemento da liga como Ni, (iii) contendo adições de ligas de Co e pelo menos um membro do grupo IVB, VB, VIB, VIIB e/ou VIIIB, de preferência Cr e V, na faixa de O a 20% at.%, e quando combinado com Ni, representa 0,75 a 0,85 da fração atómica da liga, e (iv) contendo elementos metalóides compostos de preferência de um ou mais dos elementos C, B, Si e P sozinhos ou em combinação para representar 0,15 a 0,25 da fração atómica da liga. Os eletrodos têm excelente estabilidade térmica, estabilidade melhorada em um eletrólito aquoso e podem fornecer uma eficiência de corrente melhorada - desempenho anódico superpotencial. Eles são utilizados na eletrólise de soluções aquosas de eletrólitos tais como misturas de cáusticos e água na produção de oxigênio e hidrogênio.
