Abstract
<B>PROCESSO E APARELHO PARA DETERMINAçãO DE UMA LOCALIZAçãO DE UMA UNIDADE MóVEL SEM FIO<D> Uma localização ou posição de uma unidade móvel sem fio é determinada utilizando-se somente as medições provenientes de uma única estação-base. Uma distância entre a unidade móvel sem fio e a estação-base é calculada utilizando-se uma valor de retardo em um trajeto de ida e volta em um sinal ascendente de RF recebido de uma unidade móvel sem fio. Em seguida, determina-se um ângulo de chegada do sinal recebido usando-se medições do sinal recebido de cada um de uma multiplicidade de setores de antena de uma antena de muitos setores. O ângulo de chegada é determinado com base nas medições de sinal de antena armazenados da antena de muitos setores, em que uma combinação de medições de sinal de diferentes setores corresponde a uma medição de um único ângulo. Utilizando-se a distância e o ângulo de chegada determinados, pode ser facilmente determinada uma posição ou localização de uma unidade móvel sem fio utilizando-se somente medições provenientes de uma única estação-base.
