Abstract

Patente de invenção<B>EMISSãO REMOTA DE RECURSO PARA DISPOSITIVOS DE SAìDA"<D>. A presente invenção refere-se à emissão remota de recurso para dispositivos de saída de modo a sanar as limitações das impressoras digitais convencionais. De acordo com a presente invenção, quando um cliente tenta adicionar um recurso novo em uma impressora, o cliente contata um vendedor. O vendedor envia ao cliente um cupom de recurso que contém uma descrição do recurso e um ID de recurso, quando o cliente deseja instalar um recurso, o cliente recupera o cupom ao prover o ID de recurso e a descrição de recurso para um centro de recuperação. O centro de recuperação pode ser, por exemplo, um centro de chamada ou um site da Web (rede). O centro de recuperação retorna uma chave de recurso para o cliente. A chave de recurso pode ter a forma de um trabalho de impressão que o cliente imprime na impressora para instalar o recurso. Desta forma, não há necessidade que um representante de serviço visite as dependências do cliente, e não há qualquer atraso de tempo significante.
