Abstract

Patente de Invenção para <B>"PROCESSO DE FABRICAçãO DE FAIXAS EM AçO AO CARBONO POR ESCOAMENTO CONTìNUO ENTRE DOIS CILINDROS" A invenção tem por objeto um processo de fabricação de faixas (7) de espessura inferior ou igual a 10 mm em aço ao carbono diretamente a partir de aço líquido (4), por escoamento do dito aço líquido (4) entre as superfícies laterais (3) em cobre ou ligas de metal de cobre de dois cilindros horizontais (1, 1') em rotação refrigeradas interiormente, caracterizado pelo fato de: - o dito aço líquido (4) da composição, em porcentagens ponderais: carbono <243>0,5%, manganês de 0,2 a 2%, silício <243>2%, a relação Mn % Si % estando compreendida entre 3 e 16, opcionalmente alumínio + titânio + zircónio <243> 0,10%, o restante sendo ferro e as impurezas habituais; - as ditas superfícies laterais (3, 3') dos cilindros comportando as fossetas (2) ligadas, impondo às ditas superfícies uma rugosidade Rz compreendida entre 40 e 200 Ám e uma rugosidade Ra compreendida entre 10 e 40 Á; - e a atmosfera circundando o menisco (8, 8') de aço líquido (4) presente entre os cilindros (1, 1') compreendida entre 40 e 100% de azoto, o restante sendo composto de um gás neutro insolúvel no aço líquido (4) ou de uma mistura de tais gases neutros. A invenção se refere igualmente a uma faixa suscetível de ser produzida por este processo, e um cilindro de escoamento necessários à sua colocação em prática.
