Abstract
The device and the method are highly productive and requirelower energy consumption. The method is realized in severalstages. The unginned cotton (fibres and seeds) collected from thefields is fed onto the upper surface of a lower revolving plate(3). The later is revolved and it conveys the cotton towards thefront edge (29) of a knife which is positioned at a specifieddistance from it so that the cotton can be drawn/carded under theedge of knife (27). A strip separated from the unginned cottonfrom the rear end of the knife is drawn and the seeds arecollected from the front edge of the knife.11 claims, 15 figures
