Abstract
The desulphurization mixture for castiron refining consistsof at least 50 wt.% powder calcium carbide with grain sizedistribution < 0.2 mm, 1-200 wt.% powder magnesium or granuleswith sizes < 0.8 mm and powder aluminium or granules with sizes <0.8 mm optionally with other powder additives such as calciumoxide, calcium carbonate, carbon-containing products and/or meansfor enveloping the grains. The total quantity of the additives isup to 30 wt.%. The mixture contributes to the reduction of ironlosses in the desulphurization process.2 claims
