Abstract

The low-pressure casting die is used for casting under low pressure of castings with side rear cuts, in particular for the manufacture of motorcar metal wheels. Said casting die consists of a base plate (1) having an axial casting nozzle (2), a vertically displaceable core (3), and separated horizontally displaceable jaws (4). According to the invention, wedge rests (5) are located on the base plate, and the moulding jaws (4) have outer sliding wedges (6) that rest on the wedge rests (5) when the mould is closed. The moulding jaws (4) are fixed on a bridge (7), together with the core (3), andcan be vertically displaced therewith. The bridge (7) and the moulding jaws (4) have co-operating upper pairs of sliding wedges by which means the moulding jaws (4) can be outwardly displaced in relation to the bridge (7).
