Abstract

The equipment compresses material e.g. wood chips, sawdust, coal dust etc. into briquettes. It comprises one and pref. several dies (8,9), into which the material flows under gravity from a hopper, together with a piston reciprocating in each die and compressing the material against a removable closing plate (16), the piston being actuated by a hydraulic ram (1). - The material can be admitted to the die via a slot (13) running in the lengthwise direction of the former.
