Abstract

Multicolored dyeing of natural polyamide fibrous materials or synthetic materials which can be dyed with acid dyes, e.g. wool and silk or synthetic polyamides such as Nylon 6, Nylon 7, etc. polypropylene modified by basic radicals, polyacrylonitrile modified by basic radicals and acrylonitrile copolymers modified by basic radicals, comprises impregnating the textile material locally with a compn. contg. one or more colourless cpds. able to react with the fibres and one or more acid dyes, fixing the impregnated material and exhaust dyeing the textile with one or more dyestuffs of a different shade. Thus a Nylon 6.6 fabric is dyed a red and white pattern on a blue background.
