Description

  " Clavetage "

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  "Keying"
The present invention relates to a keyway, which is, in substance, characterized in that a bar-shaped steel key, which can be clamped in the keyway formed in two joining machine parts, present at its upper part and / or at its lower part a curved or wavy shape.

   The invention will now be described in detail with reference to an exemplary embodiment shown in the appended de.ssin.

   Fig. 1 is an end view and FIG. 2 is a longitudinal section of de.ux machine parts connected by keying according to the invention. Fig 3 is a side view of the key.

   In the drawing, the reference notation 1 denotes:

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 a shaft to which is connected, by keying, so as not to be able to rotate, another element 2, for example a pulley, a toothed wheel or a similar device.

   In the keyway 3, with 4 flat and horizontal sides, provided in the two elements 1 and 2, is clamped a key b, whose sides adjacent to the faces 4 of the groove are flat, but whose upper side is laughter 6 and the lower side 7 are wavy in shape.

  The corrugated shape can be suitably obtained / rough / by bending the key completely / so as to give it a wavy shape, so that the longitudinal axis of the key has a wavy shape corresponding to the corrugation. on the upper side and the lower side. Thus a hollow 9 on the lower side of the key is located opposite a ridge 8 on the upper side of said key.

  The upper side and the lower side of the groove suitably converge slightly towards each other in the direction of tightening of the key. The inclination between these two faces can be about 1: 100 for example.

   The thickness of the key in the height direction is less than the height of the groove. However, the height of the corrugation at the height of the hanger is chosen in such a way that the effective height h of the slat is greater, for example by about 1 mm, than that of the groove. of the key- there is a determined change in the shape of the corrugations.

  Between the upper and lower sides of the groove and this change is accentuated during the entire tightening movement, so that there is constantly between the key on the one hand, and the upper face and the lower face of the groove , on the other hand, a tension such that the key cannot slide out of the groove, whereas for

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 keys whose upper and lower sides are planar, the faces adjacent to one another of the key and of the groove are kept in mutual contact only by the sliding friction.

   In this case, the part of the key which first penetrates into the groove prepares the subsequent shovel clamping by lapping and there is, when the clamping is finished, no elastic tension in the material constituting the shovel. the key.

   In the exemplary embodiment shown in the accompanying drawings, approximately two complete corrugations are provided along the length of the key. The greater the number of corrugations used, and the shorter the length thereof, the greater the tension of the key will be, and the number of corrugations can for this reason be increased to three, for example, four, or more, In some these, however, it is possible to be satisfied with giving the key the firmness of a single undulation.
