Abstract

The invention relates to a food supplement comprising plant extracts, essential oils and vitamins, not containing sugars. Vitamins include vitamin B3 and B12. This supplement is used to treat or relieve symptoms related to stress and nervousness. It comes in the form of a gum or any other dosage form that can be used orally.

The present invention relates to a food supplement comprising plant extracts, essential oils and vitamins.

This food supplement comes in the form of gums or any other galenic forms usable orally to treat or relieve symptoms related to stress, anxiety and nervousness.

Context of the state of the art

For many years, the pharmaceutical industry has been searching for dietary supplements, generally of synthetic origin, to treat or relieve symptoms related to stress and nervousness.

Such synthetic compositions cause undesirable side effects.

As mentioned above, these documents all describe combination products and/or compositions to help with stress management, relaxation and/or falling asleep, including plant extracts, essential oils and/or vitamins and/or minerals.

However, none of the products described in these documents meet current consumer requirements.

Object of the invention

The present invention aims to solve these problems. To this end, the inventors have undertaken research to develop compositions to treat these health problems, based on ingredients of purely natural origin.

Brief description of the invention

The invention relates to a food supplement comprising plant extracts, essential oils and vitamins, not containing sugars.

The food supplement is characterized in that it comprises: a) as plant extracts: - a dry extract of Rhodiola root, and - a dry extract of Poppy petals, and - a dry extract of Ginseng roots, and b) as essential oils: - an essential oil of Green Mandarin, and - an essential oil of Sweet Marjoram, and c) as vitamins: - vitamin B3, and - vitamin B12.

This food supplement is of purely natural origin. Furthermore, it contains a combination of three plant extracts, two essential oils, and two types of vitamins.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the composition is in the form of gums or any other galenic forms usable orally.

This dietary supplement, particularly in the form of gum for oral use, is used to treat or relieve symptoms related to stress and nervousness.

The invention, as well as its preferred modes of application, are described in the supplementary dependent claims.

Other preferred embodiments and advantages of the invention are described in the following description.

Detailed description of the invention

The present invention relates to a food supplement containing three types of ingredients: a) plant extracts; b) essential oils; c) vitamins.

The supplement in question does not contain sugars.

The supplement according to the invention is characterized in that: a) the plant extracts comprise: - a dry extract of Rhodiola root, and - a dry extract of Poppy petals, and - a dry extract of Ginseng roots, and b) the essential oils comprise: - an essential oil of Green Mandarin, and - an essential oil of Sweet Marjoram, and c) the vitamins comprise: - vitamin B3, and - vitamin B12.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the supplement according to the invention further comprises one or more of the following ingredients: - a filler; - a sweetener; - a gelling agent; - an acidifying agent; - a coating agent; - natural flavorings.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the food supplement comprises: - maltitol as a bulking agent and/or sweetener, and/or - pectin as a gelling agent, and/or - citric acid and/or sodium citrate as an acidifying agent, and/or - carnauba wax as a coating agent.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the food supplement comprises the following ingredients in the quantities indicated: - from 0.01 to 10%, preferably from 0.01% to 5%, Rhodiola extract; - from 0.01 to 10%, preferably from 0.01% to 5%, Poppy extract; - from 0.01 to 10%, preferably from 0.01% to 5%, Ginseng extract; - from 0.01 to 10%, preferably from 0.01% to 5%, essential oil of

Green mandarin; - from 0.01 to 10%, preferably between 0.01% and 5%, the essential oil of

Sweet marjoram; - 0.01 to 5%, preferably between 0.01% and 1%, vitamin B3; - 0.01 to 5%, preferably between 0.01 and 1%, vitamin B12;

Then, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, in the food supplement: - plant extracts represent between 0.1 and 10%, preferably between 0.5 and 2% by weight of the composition, and - essential oils represent between 0.01 and 2%, preferably between 0.01 and 0.5% by weight of the composition, and - vitamins represent between 0.01 and 2%, preferably between 0.01 and 0.1% by weight of the composition.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the food supplement comprises the following ingredients in the quantities indicated: - maltitol (preferably in the form of syrup and/or powder) as a bulking agent and/or sweetening agent: between 50 and 99%; - a gelling agent (preferably pectin): between 1 and 10%; - an acidifying agent: between 0.1 and 10%; - a glazing agent (for example, carnauba wax): between 0.1 and 10%; - natural flavorings: between 0.1 and 10%.

Use of the food supplement:

The food supplement according to the invention is presented in a form suitable for oral administration.

Preferably it is presented in the form of a tablet, a capsule, a gum or any other pharmaceutical form usable orally.

Furthermore, it is preferably presented in the form of gums.

These gummies, representing a practical and fun format for consumption, use pectin as a structuring agent; in English they are called "gummies".

The food supplement according to the invention is used to treat or relieve symptoms related to stress, anxiety and nervousness.

The complement according to the invention can be used for this purpose.

Also, the supplement according to the invention can be used in the preparation of gums to treat or relieve symptoms related to stress, anxiety and nervousness.

Preferably, a course of treatment is recommended to relieve, or even treat, the health problems described above.

Such a treatment can substantially improve the health of the people treated.

The preferred method is to take three erasers as needed, in particular

The dietary supplement formula according to the invention allows for daily intake, is calorie-free, and non-cariogenic, as the formula according to a preferred method of the invention is sugar-free. The formula offers an effective combination of plants, essential oils, and vitamins at the recommended dose to support anti-stress and relaxing properties.

For the purposes of the present invention, plant extract means: a liquid preparation (fluid extracts and tinctures), of semi-solid consistency (soft or firm extracts) or solid consistency (dry extracts), obtained from plant matter generally in a dry state.

Extracts are defined by their production process (state of the plant material, solvent, extraction conditions) and their specifications (Definition according to the

European Pharmacopoeia). Extraction is carried out using an appropriate solvent (usually ethanol and/or water) from one or more batches of drug, which may have previously undergone various treatments such as grinding or degreasing.

Example of composition for the equivalent of 3 gums: - bulking agent: maltitol; - gelling agent: pectin; - acidifying agent: citric acid; - dry extract of Ginseng: Panax ginseng root; 60 mg; - dry extract of Rhodiola: Rhodiola rosea L. root; 30 mg; - organic essential oil of Green Mandarin: Citrus reticulata pericarp; 30 mg; - essential oil of Marjoram: Origanum majorana L. aerial parts; 2.3 mg; - natural flavoring; - dry extract of Poppy: Papaver rhoeas L. petal; 22.4 mg; - acidifying agent: sodium citrate; - glazing agent: Camuba wax; - hydroglycerin macerate of Blackcurrant: Ribes nigrum L. leaf; 5 mg; - Vitamin B3: nicotinamide; 2.4 mg; 15% NRV; - Vitamin B12 — cyanocobalamin, 0.376 µg — 15% NRV. Detailed description of some ingredients of the supplement according to the invention:

Essential oil :

For the purposes of the present invention, essential oil means: a volatile essence extracted from aromatic plants or from an organ of this plant by steam distillation.

Green Mandarin Essential Oil:

Green mandarin essential oil is used for relaxation and stress relief. Soothing, it calms the mind and promotes sleep. The botanical name is Citrus reticulata Blanco.

Part of the plant extracted: Pericarp of the fruit (peel) while still green. It is obtained by cold expression followed by centrifugation.

Sweet marjoram essential oil:

Marjoram (Origanum majorana) is an annual or biennial plant of sixty centimeters, from the Lamiaceae family and native to the eastern Mediterranean basin.

Highly regarded for its calming properties, sweet marjoram essential oil is used to relieve stress and anxiety and regulate sleep disorders. Its botanical name is Origanum majorana. The part of the plant extracted is the aerial parts. It is obtained by complete steam distillation.

Poppy dry extract

The poppy (Papaver rhoeas) is a herbaceous plant that belongs to the Papaveraceae family.

Poppy promotes sleep and helps combat various sleep disorders naturally. Poppy extract can help with stress, anxiety, nervousness, and restlessness.

Rhodiola:

Rhodiola (Rosea L.) is an adaptogenic plant that helps improve the body's resistance to nervousness and stress.

Vitamin B3: Vitamin B3 (C4HsNO:) is a water-soluble vitamin composed of two molecules: niacin (nicotinic acid) and its amide, nicotinamide, sometimes called niacinamide. It is also called vitamin PP for pellagra preventive because a deficiency in this vitamin is responsible for pellagra.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12, also called cobalamin, is a water-soluble vitamin essential for normal brain function (it participates in the synthesis of neurotransmitters), the nervous system (it is essential for maintaining the integrity of the nervous system, particularly the myelin sheath that protects nerves and optimizes their function), and blood formation. It is one of the eight essential vitamins.

It exists in several forms belonging to the cobalamin family. Cobalamins have a chemical structure similar to heme, but the central iron atom is replaced by a cobalt atom, hence their name.

Charge agents:

Bulking agents are food additives added to a food product to increase its volume without significantly increasing its caloric or nutritional value. They serve to bulk up the food preparation, that is, to give it volume without overpowering the flavor. These compounds, other than water and air, are also called fillers or bulking agents. Polydextrose (E 1200), mannitol (E 965), maltitol (E 421), and gum arabic or acacia gum (E414) are additives used as bulking agents.

Maltitol (E965) is a polyol used as a bulk sweetener to replace sugar.

Coating agent

Coating agents are food additives that protect food with a thin layer. They give food a shiny and smooth appearance when applied to the external surface. They exert a physical action by forming a protective coating on the surface of the food.

This category of food additives includes, among others, various waxes, notably beeswax (E 901), camauba wax (E 903), and candelilla wax (E 902). Microcrystalline wax (E 905), shellac resin (E 904), and gum arabic (E 414) should also be included.

Coating agents give food surface characteristics, providing a glossy and appealing appearance. They add shine and smooth or even out the food's appearance, enhancing its presentation. These edible substances are used to decorate food and make it more appetizing to consumers. They coat food products, making them more attractive. Coating agents adhere only to the surface, forming a protective layer or film around the food. This layer protects food from spoilage due to natural oxidation.

Carnauba:

Carnauba wax is extracted from the leaves of a palm tree native to northeastern Brazil, Copernicia prunifera. It is generally found in the form of brittle, yellow-brown, highly fragrant chips. This wax is obtained by beating the leaves of Copernicia prunifera, followed by refining and sometimes bleaching.

Carnauba wax is a widely used ingredient in shoe polishes, automotive waxes, and confectionery, where it provides a glossy surface, as well as for polishing coated tablets. It is authorized as a food additive under the number E903 as a glazing agent.

Gelling agent:

A gelling agent, also called a gelling agent, is a texturizing agent that gives food a gel-like consistency. It can be: derived from animal bones (gelatin) or derived from plant extracts (pectins, alginates, carrageenans, agar-agar, starch).

The term "gelling agent" is reserved for texturizers of plant origin.

Seaweed is an important source of gelling agents: alginates, carrageenans, and agar-agar. Pectin is generally extracted from apples, while starch, in the form of flour, can come from a wide variety of plants: corn, cassava, potatoes, etc.

Texturizers of animal origin are called "gelatin".

In the food supplement according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, pectin is used as a gelling (agent).

Claims (7)

DEMANDS 1. Food supplement comprising plant extracts, essential oils and vitamins, not containing sugars, characterized in that: a) the plant extracts comprise: - a dry extract of Rhodiola root, and - a dry extract of Poppy petals, and - a dry extract of Ginseng roots, and b) the essential oils comprise: - an essential oil of Green Mandarin, and - an essential oil of Sweet Marjoram, and c) the vitamins comprise: - vitamin B3, and - vitamin B12. 2. Food supplement according to claim 1, characterized in that it further comprises one or more of the following ingredients: - a bulking agent; - a sweetening agent; - a gelling agent; - an acidifying agent; - a coating agent; - natural flavorings. 3. Food supplement according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that it comprises the following ingredients in the following quantities: - from 0.01 to 10%, preferably from 0.01% to 5%, Rhodiola extract; - from 0.01 to 10%, preferably from 0.01% to 5%, Poppy extract; - from 0.01 to 10%, preferably from 0.01% to 5%, Ginseng extract; - from 0.01 to 10%, preferably from 0.01% to 5%, Green Mandarin essential oil; - from 0.01 to 10%, preferably from 0.01% to 5%, Sweet Marjoram essential oil; 12 BE2022/0035 - from 0.01 to 5%, preferably between 0.01% and 1%, vitamin B3; - from 0.01 to 5%, preferably between 0.01% and 1%, vitamin B12; 4. Food supplement according to any one of the preceding claims characterized in that: - plant extracts represent between 0.1 and 10%, preferably between 0.5 and 2% by weight of the composition; and/or - essential oils represent between 0.01 and 2%, preferably between 0.01 and 0.5% by weight of the composition; and/or - vitamins represent between 0.01 and 2%, preferably between 0.01 and 0.1% by weight of the composition. 5. Food supplement according to claim 2, characterized in that it comprises: - maltitol as a bulking agent and/or sweetener, and/or - pectin as a gelling agent, and/or - citric acid and/or sodium citrate as an acidifying agent, and/or - carnauba wax as a coating agent. 6. Food supplement according to claim 5, characterized in that it is presented in the form of a tablet, a capsule, a gum or any other galenic forms usable orally. 7. Dietary supplement according to any one of claims 1 to 6 for its use in treating or relieving symptoms related to stress and nervousness.
