Glasses frame branch with changeable shape and inner cover

Field of the invention

The invention relates to a spectacle frame branch comprising a front hinge end arranged to be articulated to a front face of the frame by means of a hinge and a free rear end, a core extending inside. of the branch, one of the two front and rear ends of the core being anchored in one of the two front and rear ends of the branch and the branch comprising, attached to it, drive and setting means shape to drive the other end of the core, movable mounted, moving in the other of the ends of the branch and deform the branch and thus modify its curve.

Such a branch is described in particular in French patent application FR 1002906.

The soul of the branch, also called silk, being inside the branch, the applicants have sought to provide this branch with an inner cover precisely intended to hide the soul. And they set themselves the objectives of being able to fill the frame branch with a cover, inexpensive, therefore made of simple material, of the polyamide type, and which is interchangeable.

To this end, the invention relates to a spectacle frame branch of the type defined above, characterized in that it has an internal cover clipped onto the branch and covering the core from one of its ends up to to the other, one of the front ends and

BE2017 / 5104 rear of the cover being free to move relative to the branch.

When the curvature of the branch is modified, the cover remains clipped onto it.

By clipping is meant here an elastic pinching.

Preferably, the two front and rear ends of the cover are free to move relative to the branch.

Advantageously, the cover is arranged to be able to slide on the branch.

In a preferred embodiment of the frame branch of the invention, the core extends in a channel formed in the branch and along which are spaced apart shaping bridges under which the core, lights being provided in the cover in which are received with play the shaping bridges.

Thus, and the length of the cover being immutable, when the curve of the branch is modified, if the cover can slide on the branch, it remains perfectly clipped onto it.

In an advantageous embodiment of the branch of the invention, the core extends in a channel formed in the branch and along which are spaced apart shaping bridges under which the core, the cover and the bridges being arranged so that the cover can slide on the bridges.

In this case, the upper surface of the bridges can be flush with or recessed from the external surface of the cover.

In another embodiment of the branch of the invention, the core extends in a channel along which are formed shaping bridges and the cover completely covers the bridges.

The invention will be better understood using the following description of several embodiments of the spectacle frame branch of the invention, with reference to the attached drawing, in which

The branch 1 of Figures 1 and 2, without inner cover, has a front articulation end 2 and a free rear end 3. The end 2 is intended to be articulated, by means of a tenon element 4 d 'a hinge 5, to a lateral tenon of a front face of spectacle frame. The free end 3 is intended to rest on an ear of a user. A core 6 extends “inside”, more precisely here along the branch 1 between the two ends 2, 3.

The core 6 can be a rod, a cable, a blade or any other similar element.

The core 6 is anchored by its rear end 7 in the free rear end 3 of the branch 1. More specifically, the core 6 passes through an end tunnel 8 of the rear end 3 of the branch and its end 7 is crimped in a stop pin 9 abutting the end tunnel 8, on the free side of the branch.

Near its other end 10, the core 6 is threaded and screwed, here in a threaded sleeve housed in a

BE2017 / 5104 adjustment wheel 11 intended to drive the sleeve in rotation.

Immobilized in translation in the wheel 11, when the sleeve is rotated, it drives the core 6 by its threaded end in translation through it and the wheel. The effect of this driving of the core 6 is to shorten the length of the core between the anchoring tunnel 8 and the shortening wheel 11. Other means could be envisaged for driving the sleeve in rotation.

The core 6 therefore extends along the branch 1 but passing under shaping bridges of the branch spaced from each other, in this case five bridges 12-16 between the anchoring tunnel 8 and the shortening wheel 11, these bridges forming a channel in which the core extends. The spacing of the bridges two by two increases from the tunnel 8 to the thumbwheel 11. Thanks to the bridges, the core 6 remaining stretched between them, due to the shortening of its length, the bridges are closer together in pairs from others which causes shaping, or deformation of the branch which curves or curves more.

Between the bridges 15 and 16, a lower rib 17 is formed which extends parallel to the core 6, under it, from the bridge 16 towards the bridge 15 and which stops a little before. This rib 17 is a stiffening rib which prevents the branch from bending in the general plane of this rib between the two bridges 15 and

16. The modification of the curve of branch 1 can only occur in the portion, between the two bridges, which

BE2017 / 5104 extends beyond the rib and also in the terminal part of this rib which ends in a rounded point.

The embodiment of the branch 21 of Figures 3 and 4 differs from that of Figures 1 and 2 by the inversion of the anchor and adjustment wheel. On the branch 21, the adjustment wheel 31 is arranged at the free rear end 23 and, the anchoring tunnel 28, near the articulation end 22 of the branch. For the rest, the elements of branch 21 identical to those of branch 1 are referenced in a homologous manner, only the tens digit being changed.

Thus, the core 26 extends between a rotary sleeve in the wheel 31 and the anchoring tunnel 28, passing under the bridges 32-36, a stiffening rib 37 being formed at the edge of the branch between the bridges 35 and 36.

Note that the core of the branch can be more or less flexible or rigid. The more rigid the core, the weaker the arrow created between the rectilinear core and the arc of the branch between two bridges. Furthermore, it will be noted that the camber of the branch depends on the distances between two successive bridges.

This is the branch of Figure 4 which has been shown with its inner cover in Figures 5 and 6 and which will now be described further, in different embodiments.

Referring to Figures 5 and 6, the lateral edges of the branch 21 are shaped with grooves 41, 42

BE2017 / 5104 extending along the branch and constituting slides for the curved lateral edges 43, 44 of the inner cover 40.

The inner cover 40 is a flat rod therefore with lateral edges 43, 44 curved inwards, but, in the cover position as in FIG. 6, curved towards the outside of the branch. Seen in section, the ring has the shape of an uppercase letter C reversed.

The rod 40 extends over almost the entire length of the branch, but not entirely.

The branch 21 comprises the bridges 32-36 under which the core 26 passes.

The rod 40, whose edges 43, 44 have a certain elasticity, is therefore clipped onto the branch 21, by engagement of the edges 43, 44 in the slides 41, 42 of the branch.

The rod 40 covers the inside of the branch 21 but not completely. Indeed, not only does the rod not extend over the entire length of the branch, but, moreover, it is pierced with lights 45-49 in line with the shaping bridges 32-36 received in these lights when the cover is mounted on the branch.

It will be noted that the cover 40 covers the core 26 almost from one of its ends 26 'to the other 26.

More specifically, the front end 51 and the rear end 52 of the cover are therefore free to move relative to the branch due to the play between the ends

51, 52 and the articulation end 22 of the branch and the rear end 23 of the branch, respectively.

Thus, the cover 40 can slide on the branch 21.

The lights 45-49 for receiving the bridges, for shaping are larger longitudinally, and possibly laterally, than the bridges so that a clearance is created between the bridges and the lights and so that the bridges do not hinder the displacement of the cover when it slides on the branch.

This sliding occurs when the curvature of the branch is modified, which allows the rod to remain clipped onto the branch.

Note that a cover has been described which has a sliding degree of freedom at each of its longitudinal ends. It would be possible to fix one of the two ends to the branch.

It will also be noted that the shaping bridges 32-36 are received in the slots 45-49 of the cover but without practically protruding therefrom, the cover also having to have a protective function. In FIG. 6, the external surface 53 of the rod 40 is slightly set back relative to the upper surface 54 of the bridge 35.

In the embodiment of Figures 5 and 6, the cover is slidably mounted on the branch.

In the embodiments of FIGS. 7, 8 and 9, the covers are slidably mounted on the shaping bridges.

To this end, the bridges, for example the bridge 35 ′ in FIG. 7, span a sheath 55 for receiving the core 26. The sheath 55 has here a shape of groove formed between two strips 56, 57 extending the along branch 1.

At the level of the strips 56, 57, the legs 58, 59 of the bridge 35 ′ have outside grooves 60, 61 for receiving the curved lateral edges 43, 44 of the cover 40.

Inside, the bridge 35 'also has a groove 62 for, at the location of the bridge, closing the sleeve 55 for receiving the core.

In the made of production of the figure 8, the upper surface 54 ' from the 35 'bridge outcrop area external 53 of 40 'rod comprising of lights 45 ' -49 'from reception of bridges. In the made of production of the figure 9, the rush 40 covers completely the bridge 35 ', the rush 40 born

therefore comprising no lights, and these are the only differences between the two embodiments of FIGS. 8 and 9.

Whether the cover is slidably mounted on the branch or on its shaping bridges, the cover can be slightly set back from the upper surface of the bridges, flush with this upper surface or completely cover it.

Finally, it should be noted that, by design, it is easy to substitute another cache for the invention, whatever the reason (degradation, taste and willingness to exchange, etc.).

We have described a frame branch provided with shaping bridges. It should not however be considered that it is a limiting characteristic of the invention, even if it is actually preferable, to make a curved branch or that the curve of a branch can be modifiable, than the branch has such bridges.

The cover being formed in an inexpensive material, the branch and its inner cover will be made respectively of two different materials and with equally different coefficients of elasticity, the cover, for example of polyamide and, the branch, of acetate.

A spectacle frame has been described with lateral slides on the branch or on its shaping bridges for the sliding of the cover by its curved lateral edges. Conversely, a branch could be designed with tenons on its lateral edges received with clearance in the openings made in the lateral edges of the cover, the cover being able to always slide a little along the branch in the event of the curvature of the branch.

Claims (10)

1. Eyeglass frame branch (1; 21) having a front hinge end (2; 22) arranged to be articulated to a front frame face by means of a hinge (5; 25) and an end free rear (3; 23), a core (6; 26) extending inside the branch, one of the two front and rear ends of the core (6; 26) being anchored (8; 28 ) in one of the two front and rear ends of the branch and the branch comprising, attached to it, drive and shaping means (11, 16; 31, 36) for driving the other of the ends of the soul, movably mounted, moving in the other of the ends of the branch and deforming the branch and thus modifying its curve, characterized in that it comprises an internal cover (40) clipped onto the branch (1; 21 ) and covering the core (6; 26) from one of its ends (26 ') to the other (26), one of the front and rear ends (51, 52) of the cover (40) being free to move relative to the branch (1; 21). 2. Frame branch according to claim 1, in which the two front and rear ends (51, 52) of the cover (40) are free to move relative to the branch (21). 3. Frame branch according to one of claims 1 and 2, wherein the cover (40) is arranged to be able to slide on the branch (1; 21). 4. Frame branch according to one of claims 4 and 6, wherein the upper surface (54) of the bridges (35) is flush with the outer surface (53) of the cover (40). 8.
