Abstract

A floor element, in particular a wooden floor element, comprising a top and a bottom surface as well as a first and a second lateral side, said first side being provided with a tooth integrally formed with said floor element, said second side being provided with a groove, said tooth and said groove extend substantially over a whole length of lateral sides and are dimensioned in such a manner, that for adjacently placed floor elements the tooth of the one floor element and the groove of the other floor element mutually engage for providing a toothed engagement, and wherein said tooth starts from said top surface and is inclined over an angle situated between 20 and 70°, preferably between 35 and 55° with respect to said top surface, said tooth having a length measured as from said top surface of at least one third of the thickness of said floor element.

   BeschriivinQ

   Description
Angled tongue and groove connection This tongue and groove connection is situated in the timber sector, more specifically with solid wood flooring and parquet floors.

The angled tongue and groove connection is made by milling the tongue on the one longitudinal side of the board starting from the top of the board and measured from there below 45 degrees down to 2 / 5th of the thickness of the board from below.

On the other longitudinal side of the board, the groove is milled, also measured at 45 degrees from the top of the board to 2 / 5th of the thickness of the board from below.

With the current techniques it is perfectly possible to manufacture the angled tongue and groove connection, so we do not have to rely on new techniques.

It is very easy for a woodworker or parquet layer to install these floors, even a handy do - it - yourselfer is able to lay a floor with the angled tongue and groove connection.

From the current state of the art, someone who wants to lay a wooden floor must glue or nail this floor to a subfloor, so that the boards do not slide apart. Gluing or nailing is not necessary with the angled tongue and groove connection, because the connection ensures that the boards hook onto each other and as a result a larger wooden surface can be moved freely over the subfloor, this due to shrinking and swelling due to temperature fluctuations of the wood without the boards sliding apart.
