Abstract

Seating furniture including a substructure (4) having a pedestal arrangement (43, 44) which is arranged to rest securely on an underlying surface (5), a chair seat (2) which is supported by the substructure (4), and means (6; 422, 423, 424) for setting a desired distance between the pedestal arrangement (43, 44) and the seat (2). A driving means (7; 71-73, 75, 425, 9, 77, 78) is provided for the substantially continuous driving of the means (6; 422, 423, 424) for the purpose of slowly changing the distance (S) with a velocity of motion not exceeding 100 cm/minute.
