Details of Associated Provisional Application(s): No(s): Australian Provisional Application No. PN9910 The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me/us: -69 Rob 0907 970519,msdat.113,barbaga~lo.fil,1 97 O519,cmsdat.ll3.barbagallo.fil,l la- S.TITLE:
SHOWER
a FIELD OF THE INVENTION 5 This invention relates to a shower or the like.
a BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION
S
Although the present invention is described with reference to an embodiment which is in the form of a shower, it is to be understood that the invention is applicable in any environment where use of water is to be minimised.
Accordingly, throughout this specification (including the claims) any reference to a 'shower' is to be read as including a reference to a hand basin, galley sink or the like.
00922,cmsdat. I 13,barbagallo.cap,I -2- 0* a a a a a There are instances in which a person cannot get access to a shower so as to wash and cleanse themselves.
Some such instances include travel in remote country areas, camping, on boats, on industrial sites and in mobile vehicles. These instances are not of course, exhaustive.
While portable showers may have been constructed, the conservation of water is often an important consideration.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides:a shower including:a base, a first container for fresh water, 20 a second container for soapy water, a head capable of being selectively connected to the first container and the second container, and means for selectively connecting the base to the first container and the second container.
PREFERRED ASPECTS OF THE INVENTION Preferably a pump is provided.
Preferably the base has two outlets; one being in communication with the first container and one being in communication with the second container.
00 9 22,cmsdat. I 13,barbagallo.cap,2 Preferably closure means for the two outlets is provided and by selective operation of the closure means a selected one of the two outlets may be opened.
Preferably the base is mounted on a housing which encloses the first container and the second container.
Preferably the housing also encloses the pump.
Preferably a heat exchanger is provided for heating water.
Preferably a lid for the housing is provided on which the head is mounted.
Preferably support means is provided for holding the lid in an elevated position. The support means is preferably telescopic.
Preferably curtain means is attached to the lid to provide privacy.
Preferably a light is attached to the lid.
20 A specific embodiment of a portable shower in accordance with this invention will now be described with the aid of the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 is an isometric view of a portable shower according to a specific embodiment of this invention in folded condition and from one side, Figure 2 is an isometric view of the portable shower in folded condition and from the other side, a a.

Side tabs DETAILED DESCRIPTION WITH RESPECT TO THE DRAWINGS The portable shower 1 shown in the drawings comprises a bottom housing 2 which has a lid 3.
The lid is normally connected to the bottom housing by means of catches 4.
The bottom housing 2 is provided with a handle 6 whereby the portable shower may be carried.
There is an access hole 7 in the bottom housing 2 in which can be located or removed therefrom, a power cord 8 having an electrical connector 9.
The electrical connector 9 is normally of the type which will plug into a vehicle cigarette 20 lighter socket but may be some other form of electrical connector as may be required.
Further from the access hole 7, tubing 21 may be provided which is connected to a heat exchanger 22 for the purposes of warming water.
25 The lid 3 is provided with a hole 23 and a hole 24.
S
-j Two telescopic poles are provided and are normally carried separately. The telescopic poles have a pin at their upper end.
To erect the portable shower for use, the lid is raised up and one of the telescopic poles has its pin inserted in the hole 24 and its base on the housing 2.
g P
A
This will hold the lid temporarily in position whereafter the other telescopic pole 25 may 00922,cmsdat. I 13,barbagallo.cap,5 be located in one of the holes 23 and bearing against the base will provide further support.
The first used telescopic pole 25 can then be transferred in position so that it enters the other of the holes 23 and as such will retain the lid at an erect position.
Attached to and depending from the lid 3 is enclosure material 26 which comprises side walls and a back and also has front flap 27 which may be conveniently lowered when desired and closed using the zip fasteners 28.
The enclosure material 26 has window panels 29 and also a soap holder 31.
On the underside of the lid is a shower head 32 which is provided with a valve 33.
Also on the underside of the lid 3 is a light 34.
The housing 2 also has an upper surface which comprises a shower base 36. That shower base 36 has got a first outlet 37 and a second outlet 38 both of which lead to separate S. containers (not shown) within the housing for containing water.
A pump 42 is provided and is connected to the shower head 32 via a first valve 39 and a second valve 41.
0 The manner of use of the shower base will now be described particularly with reference 25 to Figures 6 and 7.
a.
Firstly, water in an amount of about 1 litre is poured into each of the first outlet 37 and second outlet 38 so as to fill up the aforementioned containers therebeneath.
Initially, valve 41 is closed and valve 39 is opened and thereafter the pump 42 is actuated to pump water from the container beneath the first outlet 37 via the heat exchanger 22 through the valve 33 to the shower head 32 for the purposes of showering. The water that is initially in the container beneath the first outlet 37 may cycle through the shower head 00922.cmsdat. I 13,barbagallo.cap,6 32 and back into that container several times in the course of showering.
In the process of showering, the person showering will probably use soap and in consequence the water in the container beneath the first outlet 37 will become somewhat contaminated with soap and will not be particularly suitable for rinsing off the body to clean the body of the soap.
When it is desired to rinse off, the valve 39 is closed and the valve 41 is opened and fresh water will then be pumped up to the shower head for the purposes of rinsing.
The heat exchanger may be readily arranged to heat by simply immersing it in a bucket of hot water but other methods of heating such as using motor vehicle radiators are possible.
The shower base 36 may be hingedly attached to the housing for the purposes of cleaning and to store items such as towels and soap.
Side tabs 43 may be provided through which tent pegs or other securing devices may be passed and hammered into the ground for the purposes of holding the portable shower in place.
o• The claims, illustrations, photographs and drawings, if any, form part of the disclosure of this specification as does the description, claims, illustrations, photographs and drawings of any associated provisional or parent specification or of any priority S 25 document, if any, all of which are imported hereinto as part of the record hereof.
o e Finally it is to be understood that various alterations, modifications and/or additions may SS be incorporated into the various constructions and arrangements or parts without departing from the spirit and ambit of the invention.
