Abstract

A high voltage adaptor (2) for connecting a cable (20) to a transformer bushing (40) has, in addition to a socket for a closure or inspection plug (36), a socket (10) arranged to receive a surge arrester (26). The surge arrester (26) and cable (20) are electrically connected together and to the bushing (40) within the insulating body.
