There is disclosed herein a gantry or gallery support structure, said support structure comprising a vertically extending post to be fixed to a ground surface so as to extend upwardly therefrom, the upper end of said post having a generally circular transverse cross-section with a generally vertical longitudinal axis; a hollow cap resting on the upper end of said post, said cap having a hollow of circular cross-section within which the upper end of S'0 said post is received so as to be rotatable thereabout, a transverse t support member mounted on said cap so as to extend generally transverse of (o0 0 0 said post; and oo gantry or gallery engaging means at the extremities of said support member to enable pivoting of said gantry or gallery about an axis o: 5 transverse of said post relative to said support member.
0o A preferred form of the present invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing which schematically depicts in front elevation a support structure for a conveyor 000)00 gantry or gallery.
0 00 o, 20 In the accompanying drawing there is schematically depicted a support "00 structure 10 for a conveyor gantry or gallery. The support structure includes a vertically extending post 11 which is of tubular form and is provided with a foot 12 at its lower end which would rest upon a concrete pad 13. The post 11 is of generally circular transverse cross-section and receives at its upper end a cap 14 having a cylindrical recess 15 within which the upper end of the post is received.
Fixed to the cap 14 so as to extend generally transverse of the longitudinal axis of the post 11 is a support member 16 which in the present instance extends generally horizontal.
DG:0906t RLF/4543M -2 Each extremity of the support member 16 is provided with a pair of eyelets 17 which each receive a pin to pivotally support the gallery or gantry 18 so that the gallery or gantry 18 can pivot about a horizontal axis 19.
It should be appreciated that the cap 14 can rotate about the longitudinal axis 20 of the post 11 so as to accommodate any displacement of the gallery or gantry 18 angularly relative to the post 11.

Claims (2)
- 2. The support structure of Claim 1 wherein said post is a tubular member of constant circular transverse cross-section throughout its length.
- 3. The support structure of Claim 1 or 2 wherein said engaging means are two pairs of eyelets which receive a pin upon which the gantry or gallery is rotatably mounted. o 4. The support structure of any one of Claims 1 to 3 wherein said post terminates at its lower end with a mounting plate. A gallery or gantry support structure substantially as hereinbeforG described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
