Description

SELF LOCKING JUNCTION BOX This invention relates to a rectangle shaped Junction Box measuring 95mm in Height x 65mm in Width x 50mm in depth. It is designed to protect cable joining and termination for safety purposes.
To date there has not been an invention that has the unique feature of our Junction Box. The feature that we are seeking to patent is the locking and unlocking mechanism of the box.
The material used for the Junction Box and unlocking mechanism is ABS flame retardant plastic.
To open the junction box using the unlocking mechanism, simply press the two tabs on the sides of the Junction Box cover. To close the Junction Box, place the cover over the base and push down until locked.

The purpose of opening and closing the box is to examine cable connections or to modify the existing circuit.
Current junction boxes are not designed with the locking/unlocking mechanism. The only way that these Junction Boxes can be opened is by using a hand tool.

Claims (3)

1. A locking mechanism which forms part of the cover of the Junction Box which enables the junction box to be opened or closed with ease.
2. The material used for the locking mechanism is ABS flame retardant plastic. The locking mechanism forms part of the junction box.
3. The locking mechanism is clearly defined on the sides of the Junction Box cover for ease of use. We are specifically seeking to patent the locking mechanism on the sides of the Junction Box. Drawings Attached
