Abstract
1. Process for the production of epoxides, in which hydrogen peroxide is reacted with a compound containing an ethylenic double bond in a homogeneous liquid reaction mixture containing a catalyst and a base, characterised in that the concentration of water in the reaction mixture is kept below 10% by weight, a base chosen from the organic nitrogen bases with a pKa of not more than 8 is used, and a catalyst chosen from the selenium compounds is used.
