Abstract

The brake device has a brake pad (12) acted on by at least one spring packet (16,17), for biasing it against a rail (18), and a wedge-shaped brake pad (13,14) between the opposite side of the rail and a housing (11). The surfaces (41,42) of the pad are inclined to the vertical. Angled rolling plates are provided between the wedge-shaped brake pads and the housing surfaces.
