Abstract

The invention relates to a method for billing a connection of a mobile subscriber in a mobile network to the same mobile subscriber, whereby the rates required for the billing of this connection are stored in an identification card (40) of the mobile subscriber. The rates (11-1, 11-2, 11-3) of several mobile networks (1, 2, 3) which span the region in which the mobile subscriber (20) is located are stored in said identification card. The mobile network to be used for the connection can then be selected based on these rates. The billed amount is calculated after the connection is terminated based on the duration of the connection determined in the card and according to the stored rate.
