Abstract

The invention relates to a connecting element for a furniture piece, with a stop plate (3) and a spreading device, comprising a cone (11), a stay bar (13) and an eccentric lever (15). The connecting element can be fixed to the table top (1) of a piece of furniture, by introducing the spreading head (8) into the opening (9) in the table top (1) and spreading the spreading head (8) by operating the spreading device, such that said head exerts radial forces on the opening (9) and is thus retained therein.
