Description

SANITARY NAPKIN
The disclosure relates to a sanitary napkin, more particularly to a sanitary napkin that can prevent leakage of menstrual blood and that is breathable.
Sanitary napkins are invented to help women have a better quality of life during their menstruation periods. After many years of research and development, the design of the sanitary napkins becomes more and more diversified, which can enhance different levels of comfort. Referring to Fig. 1, a conventional sanitary napkin 1 is shown to include an absorbent pad 11 for receiving menstrual blood, and two flaps 12 extending outwardly from two opposite sides of the absorbent pad 11. Although the absorbent pad 11 can receive and absorb the menstrual blood, however, when a large discharge of the menstrual blood suddenly flows out and the absorbent pad 11 cannot instantly absorb it, the menstrual blood is prone to leak out of the absorbent pad 11, thereby causing inconvenience and discomfort to the user. Further, since the absorbent pad 11 is in full contact with the user's skin, air permeability is poor, thereby rendering the user to feel discomfort.
Therefore, an aspect of the present disclosure is to provide a sanitary napkin that can prevent leakage of menstrual blood and that is breathable.
According to this disclosure, a sanitary napkin comprises an absorbent pad configured to absorb menstrual blood, a liquid-blocking pad disposed on the absorbent pad and extending in a front-rear direction, and a pull tab. The liquid-blocking pad is formed with a plurality of through slots arranged spaced apart from each other along the front-rear direction. The pull tab extends in the front-rear direction and is connected to the absorbent pad. The pull tab is longer than the absorbent pad.
Other features and advantages of the present disclosure will become apparent in the following detailed description of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which:

Fig. 10 is a side view of the third embodiment, illustrating a pull tab being pulled upward to lift a liquid-blocking pad body.
Before the present disclosure is described in greater detail with reference to the accompanying embodiment, it should be noted herein that like elements are denoted by the same reference numerals throughout the disclosure.
For the purpose of this specification, it will be clearly understood that the word "comprising" means "including but not limited to", and that the word "comprises" has a corresponding meaning.
Further, it is to be understood that, if any prior art publication is referred to herein, such reference does not constitute an admission that the publication forms a part of the common general knowledge in the art, in Taiwan or any other country.
Referring to Figs. 2 and 3, the first embodiment of a sanitary napkin 2 according to the present disclosure is shown to comprise an absorbent pad 3, a liquid-blocking pad 4, and a pull tab 5.
The absorbent pad 3 is configured to absorb menstrual blood, and has opposite top and bottom sides.
The liquid-blocking pad 4 includes a liquidblocking pad body 41 disposed on the top side of the absorbent pad 3 and formed with a plurality of through slots 40 extending therethrough. The through slots 40 are arranged spaced apart from each other in a front-rear direction, and are located between left and right sides of the liquid-blocking pad body 41. Each of the through slots 40 is elongated, and extends in a left-right direction transverse to the front-rear direction .
The pull tab 5 is fixed to the bottom side of the absorbent pad 3, extends in the front-rear direction, and is longer than the absorbent pad 3 .
In use, a user pulls upward a rear end of the pull tab 5 so as to insert the absorbent pad 3 and the liquid-blocking pad 4 into the intergluteal cleft 10 of the user, as shown in Fig. 3. Menstrual blood flows through the through slots 40 and is absorbed by the absorbent pad 3. When there is a large discharge of the menstrual blood such that the absorbent pad 3 cannot instantly absorb it, the through slots 40 can serve to hold and accommodate the menstrual blood, so that the menstrual blood will not leak out of the absorbent pad 3. Further, when the user lies down, the menstrual blood is blocked by the liquid-blocking pad 4 and is received in the through slots 40, so that the menstrual blood is prevented from flowing around and leaking out of the absorbent pad 3. Hence, the sanitary napkin 2 of this embodiment can achieve the effect of preventing leakage of the menstrual blood in all directions .
Moreover, through the spaced apart configuration of the through slots 40, the liquid-blocking pad body 41 does not have the whole surface thereof in abutting contact with the user's skin, that is, the contact area between the liquid-blocking pad body 41 and the user's skin is small, so that friction between the two is minimized. Hence, the sanitary napkin 2 of this embodiment can provide comfort during use thereof. It should be noted herein that a front end of the pull tab 5 may be pulled by the user to facilitate adjustment of the sanitary napkin 2 during use thereof.
Referring to Figs. 4 to 6, the second embodiment of the sanitary napkin 2' of this disclosure is shown to be generally identical to the first embodiment. However, in this embodiment, the liquid- blocking pad 4' further includes two folded portions 45 that are bent inwardly and respectively from the left and right sides of the liquid-blocking pad body 41 and that are connected to the top side of the absorbent pad 3. The liquid-blocking pad body 41, the folded portions 45 and the absorbent pad 3 cooperatively define a ventilation space 450 communicating with the through slots 40. The pull tab 5 is disposed in the ventilation space 450 between the absorbent pad 3 and the liquid-blocking pad body 41, and has a front end fixed to the top side of the absorbent pad 3 and a rear end extending out of the absorbent pad 3. The pull tab 5 is made of a water-absorbing cloth material, but is not limited thereto.
In use, as shown in Fig. 7, the rear end of the pull tab 5 is pulled upward by the user to lift the liquid-blocking pad body 41 so as to intimately contact the user's skin, after which the pull tab 5 is released by the user. At this time, the pull tab 5 made of the water-absorbing cloth material will fall down onto the absorbent pad 3 by gravity. Menstrual blood flows through the through slots 40 and is absorbed by the absorbent pad 3 and the pull tab 5. The communication of the ventilation space 450 with the through slots 40 further increase the air permeability of the sanitary napkin 2' to enhance user comfort during use.
It should be noted herein that when the user pulls upward the rear end of the pull tab 5, the folded portions 45 are driven to stretch upward so that the liquid-blocking pad body 41 protrudes upward and extends into the intergluteal cleft 10 of the user, as shown in Fig. 8. Hence, use of the sanitary napkin 2' is easy .
The second embodiment provides an alternative form of the liquid-blocking pad 4' to enhance the usability of the sanitary napkin 2'.
Referring to Figs. 9 and 10, the third embodiment of the sanitary napkin 2" of this disclosure is shown to be generally identical to the second embodiment, and only differs in that, in the third embodiment, each of the folded portions 45" is formed with a plurality of notches 451 respectively communicating with the through slots 40, so that air permeability of the sanitary napkin 2" can be further enhanced. Similarly, the rear end of the pull tab 5 can be pulled upward by the user to insert the liquid-blocking pad body 41" into the intergluteal cleft 10 (see Fig. 8) of the user. The third embodiment provides an additional choice for the user to enhance its usability.
In sum, through the presence of the pull tab 5, the sanitary napkin 2, 2' , 2" can be pulled upward by the pull tab 5 to extend deep into the intergluteal cleft 10 of the user, so that flow of the menstrual blood can be guided into the absorbent pad 3 through the through slots 40 in the liquid-blocking pad body 4, 4', 4". Further, the through slots 40 in the liquid-blocking pad body 4 can serve to hold and accommodate the menstrual blood when there is a large discharge thereof so as to prevent the menstrual blood from flowing out of the absorbent pad 3. Moreover, through the spaced apart configuration of the through slots 40, the contact area between the liquid-blocking pad body 41 and the user's skin is small, so that the sanitary napkin 2, 2' , 2" of this disclosure can achieve the effect of air permeability and comfort.
Therefore, the aspect of this disclosure can indeed be achieved.
In the description above, for the purposes of explanation, numerous specific details have been set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the embodiment. It will be apparent, however, to one skilled in the art, that one or more other embodiments maybe practiced without some of these specific details. It should also be appreciated that reference throughout this specification to "one embodiment," "an embodiment," an embodiment with an indication of an ordinal number and so forth means that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic may be included in the practice of the disclosure. It should be further appreciated that in the description, various features are sometimes grouped together in a single embodiment, figure, or description thereof for the purpose of streamlining the disclosure and aiding in the understanding of various inventive aspects.
