Abstract

What makes the lid distinctive are the angles and radius of the edges and corners as well as the angles of the walls which contribute to the strength and rigidity of the dome whilst giving off the aesthetics of a square. The functional purpose of this is to allow the lids to be locked onto the base very quickly with one hand.The base takes after the same shape as the lid. There is an elevated step around the base which serves to limit the movements of the cake. What makes the base distinctive are the internal clips on the sides of this step which are designed to hold a cake board in place even when the base the turned around. This is achieved by the roundness and angles of the step as well as the positioning and spacing of the locks.
