Abstract

The invention is a tool and process to separate the layers of eyelashes for individual application of semi-permanent individual false eyelashes. The tool comprises: a supporting wedge made of two materials and shaped to support the natural curve of the eye and capture all eye lashes of a person's eye; a separator of lashes which is attached to the supporting wedge; and the front of the wedge which sits directly under the eyelashes is very narrow to enable a weaving between layers of eyelashes. The process involves: the person applying the lashes to rest the wedge under the eye of the client by holding the handle of the wedge; moving the wedge so as to have the top layer of lashes suspended in the air; applying the false lashes to the lashes suspended by the step in the separator; and removing the wedge after the top layer of lashes has had the individual lashes applied, thereby leaving the rubber divider and medic paper holding back the lashes. Unlashed lashes are then exposed and the same process is repeated for the second layer of lashes.

Description

Title: Individual Eyelash Applicator tool 2015201939 20 Aug 2015
Submitter: VC Lash Ltd Background of Invention A. Field of Invention
The invention relates to the application of individual false eye lashes for the beauty industry. The invention is focused on a tool for improving the efficiency for a beauty technician to apply false eyelashes to their client. B. Description of Prior Art
Applying individual false eyelashes with current techniques is a very slow process. Today there are a number of tools on the market for applying groups of lashes quickly. However, applying of grouped lashes is not considered the premium, high quality process of which concerning beauty focused individuals prefer. The current techniques for applying individual eye lashes is both slow for third party beauticians and slow and uncomfortable for clients. Typically the techniques use narrow tip tweezers and sticky tape or similar application processes.
Numerous innovations for application of false eyelashes and their applicators have been provided in prior art. However, current prior inventions for false eyelash applicators are for the application of a group or strip of eyelashes using an adhesive directly to the eyelid of the person having them applied. The tool we have created is for the application of individual false eyelashes to existing natural eyelashes.
Existing Technologies
There are a number of techniques already in existence such as: (1) U.S. Pat. No. 3,516,423 to Seidler U.S. Pat. No. 3,516,423—Issued to Seidler on Jun. 23, 1970 in US class 132 and subclass 88,7— teaches a cosmetic article applicator especially suited for applying false eyelashes. The applicator includes a support surface to which the cosmetic article is temporarily adhered for manipulation of the article into adhering engagement with the skin of the wearer. The surface to which the cosmetic article is temporarily adhered includes an adhering medium that is, preferably, a silicone base adhesive that is washable to remove contaminants and renew the tackiness of the adhesive. In applying the cosmetic article to the skin, a surgical tape is utilized, which is supported on a compressible surface in order that the tape is caused to conform to the cosmetic article on the support surface. (2) U.S. Pat. No. Des. 223,787 to Seidler U.S. Pat. No. Des. 223,787—issued to Seidler on Jun. 6, 1972 in US class D3 and subclass 99—teaches the ornamental design for a false eyelash holder. 1 (3) U.S. Pat. No. 3,880,175 to Hosokawa 2015201939 20 Aug 2015 U.S. Pat. No. 3,880,175—issued to Hosokawa on Apr. 29,1975 in US ciass 132 and subclass 53— teaches a false eyeiash structure including a number of hair units mounted on a supporting yarn and bonded to a plastic film that is mountable onto the upper eyelid of a human being. The film may be colored to function as eye shadow. (4) U.S. Pat. No. 5,547,529 to Woolf U.S. Pat No. 5,547,52.9—issued to Woolf on Aug. 20,1996 in US class 156 and subclass 61—teaches a false eyelash system for producing unknotted clusters of false eyelashes from long fibres. A plurality of long fibres are knotted around a main string with a preliminary knot. The long fibres are trimmed a distance away from the main string, which corresponds to a desired eyelash length. Cement is applied to the preliminary knot and a discernible distance therefrom to form a cement clot. The preliminary knot is removed by cutting through the cement clot to form unknotted clusters of false eyelashes. (5) U.S. Pat. No. 6,029,674 to Han U.S. Pat. No. 6,029,674—issued to Han on Feb. 29, 2000 in US class 132 and subclass 216—teaches a device for attaching a false eyelash, with an original adhesive thereon, to an eyelid when the original adhesive thereon has lost its adhesion. The device includes a core and an adhesive coating that surrounds the core so as to form an attaching element. The adhesive coating attaches the core along the false eyeiash and also allows the false eyelash to then be attached to the eyelid. The device further includes a primary substrate, a secondary substrate disposed on the primary substrate and has a plurality of the attaching elements spaced longitudinally there along and held releasibly thereon by the adhesive coating of each attaching element, a plurality of release sheet covers, each of which covers and protects an associated attaching element prior to use, and is held releasibly thereon by the adhesive coating of the associated attaching element, and at least one pair of false eyelashes disposed on the primary substrate, (6) U.S. Pat. No. 6,308,716 to Han U.5. Pat. No. 6,308,716—issued to Han on Oct. 30, 2001 in US class 132 and subclass 53—teaches an improved core for an adhesive device for attaching a false eyelash to an eyelid. The adhesive device is of a type that has a core, an adhesive coating that surrounds the core so as to form an attaching element, a primary substrate that is a card and has a face with an upper area that has a display through bore there through for a hanging display and a lower area, a secondary substrate that is disposed on the upper area of the primary substrate, below the display through bore there through, and a plurality of release sheet covers that are individual and separate from each other. The improvement includes the core being a plurality of synthetic fibres laid side by side and not twisted, braided, interwoven, intertwined, entwined, or interlaced with each other. Each synthetic fibres is thin, smooth, and does not absorb the adhesive coating so as to remain soft and pliable. (7) United States Patent Application Publication Number 2005/0166939 to Stroud 2
United States Patent Application Publication Number 2005/0156939.....published to Stroud on Aug. 4, 2015201939 20 Aug 2015 2005 in US ciass 132 and subclass 216—teaches a false eyelash applicator that is a generally U-shaped hand tool having two arms joined together by a middle portion. The arms are mirror images of each other and are parallel to the other. Each arm has an end, a neck section, and a handle section. The middle portion is flanked on each side by the handle sections of each arm. The ends have a width and a slightly concave edge that serves to hold the false eyelash. C. Description of Invention
The invention is a tool and process to separate the layers of eyelashes for individual application of semi-permanent individual false eyelashes. The invention includes three core components. 1. The supporting wedge made of two materials and shaped to support the natural curve of the eye and capture all eye lashes of a person's eye. 2. The separator of lashes which is attached to the supporting wedge. The separator has 1mm groves cut into the material to easily separate each individual lash. 3. The front of the wedge which sits directly under the eyelashes is very narrow to enable a weaving between layers of eyelashes.
The process involves the person who is applying the lashes, resting the wedge under the eye of the client by holding the handle of the wedge. The applicator moves the wedge so as to have the top layer of lashes suspended in the air. The false lashes are applied to the lashes suspended by the step in the separator. When the top layer of lashes has the individual lashes applied, the wedge is removed leaving the rubber divider and medic paper holds back 3 the lashes. Unlashed lashes are then exposed and the same process is repeated for the second layer of lashes. 2015201939 20 Aug 2015
The novel features of the set invention are the wedge shape support tool which rests underneath the eye. The step on the wedge which exposes the layers of lashes for application and the silicon divider for separating them. 4

Claims (1)

  1. Individual Eyelash Applicator tool The WEDGE The wedge is used in the application of Semi permanent Eyelash extensions to isolate the layers of eyelashes each person has on each eyelid. Method is weaving through the natural eyelashes on the top eyelid To separate and isolate the each layer of the natural lashes. The shape of the wedge is designed to have a point at each end, used to weave through the natural lashes on each side. Both points are designed to be the same size and shape. A single layer of lashes that can be isolated, from the rest of the layers makes it easier to further isolate each individual natural lash, compared to looking at up to 3 layers of natural lashes at once. Each successfully weaved out single layer sits above the wedge onto the plastic part. Tripod shape on the bottom of wedge is used to balance. This is the curved bottom of the wedge allows for the wedge to sit well on the check of the client. The very narrow, flat corner of the wedge allows for easy weaving through the layers of the eyelashes. Grooves shaped on the plastic part of the wedge are used to hold lashes in place to aid in further isolating each lash. Teeth comb shaped on the wedge used to comb out natural lashes. Wedge shape is a universal general shape designed to fit and accompany the shape of the eye. l. Step in wedge is used as a bridge from the natural lash line to the end of the natural lash for the natural lash to sit on the step of the wedge, preventing glue to come in contact with the wedge .. The gap between the curved edge and the groves allows for the application of the eyelash and glue, without touching the surface of the wedge and leaving glue residue on the wedge. :. Abstract heart handle design, shape and size are measured specifically to hold with ease between the thumb and index finger. :. Degree of Slope on wedge is designed for lashes to sit as flat as possible avoiding sharp upright angles.
