Description

AUSTRALIA
Patent Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATIONS INNOVATION PATENT ELEVATED FLOORING SYSTEM The following statement is a full description of this invention including the best method of installation and placement known to me.
Patent 2006100789 Page 1 ELEVATED FLOORING SYSTEM 0 Patent 2006100789 There are many different types of floors, each with there own limitations and requiring considerable expertise to install at a professional level.
SThis new flooring system is a completely new product, easy to install by the average handyman, has unlimited colours and patterns, is durable and unlike tiles, can be restored _to as new condition, if and when it wears out.
It can have the look of tiles or parquetry, the warmth of carpet and the cushioned feeling of cork floors.
It provides installation and will not crack due to ground movements.
00 Can be made of recycled materials, its cost effective and attractive.
If in future you have the desire to change appearance of tile you can restore as new or change entire colour appearance, using exact same tile. The finish of the floor panel in unique and customised in such a way that there are unlimited designs and finishes to accommodate all decors.
INO
THIS ELEVATED FLOORING SYSTEM IS MADE UP BY FOUR COMPONENTS: C BORDER STRIPS: Flexible rubber, square in height and width, used for the perimeter of the area where the floor is to be laid. Border strips and elevation runners are made from rubber and are adhesive on one side, this is positioned to the ground.
ELEVATION RUNNERS: flexible rubber,( same height as border strips and same width as As two 90 degrees cut out grooves on the underside of the floor pads, creating secure placement.
UNDERLAY SPACES: plastic foam like material of identical width dimensions as underside of floor pads, providing spacing for the elevation runners and ground insulation.
Underlay spaces are made from air bubble foam that has adhesion on one side which after correct positioning is then bonded to the floor.
FLOOR PADS: square and rectangular, with 90 degree cut out groove on the underside, which is half the width of the elevation runners, creating an exact gap of the elevation to fit into, providing placement stabilisation, in effect locking in place. The floor pads are glued down with a flexible glue for further secure placement.
THE METHOD OF PROCEDURE IS AS FOLLOWS STEP lay the perimeter of floor area with border strips.
STEP choosing the desired direction run an underlay spacer along, up to and against a border strip butting up at both ends against the other two border strips that are running in opposite direction.
STEP in the same horizontal direction lay the elevation runners along and against the underlay spacers.
STEP repeat step 2 and 3 until the entire area is complete leaving horizontally parallel evenly spaced elevation runners place floor pads over elevation runners with the 90 degrees cut out grooves following the elevated runners in grid like manner butting up against one another until floor is completed. As the union of the border strips and elevation runners are secured to the floor, they are flexible, the floor pads in effect are safe from ground movement as they are only coupled to the runners and border strips through self adhesion, when under ground movement transfers from ground to floor in its process the system I have created flows with the change, giving longstanding wear and tile textured excellence.
