Description

WO 2006/053373 PCT/AU2005/001700 1 Dry -Absorbent multilayered fibre construction Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a composition and a range of products for use herewith. The invention has been devised particularly, but not solely, for use as an absorbent composition in respect of reusable incontinence underwear for adults and children, bed protectors, chair protectors, draw sheets, sanitary pads, breast pads, cot sheets, baby nappies and a range of medical products and like a personal hygiene product or item of clothing without any limitations. Background of the Invention The present invention relates to a construction of man made fibre and natural fibre. The materials in the form of a wicking (top surface layer) and absorbent core and the overall outer and inner materials. This invented structure could be used in baby diapers, incontinence adult and children's underwear (Pull ups), chair protectors, bed protectors draw sheets, sanitary wear, breast pads, medical clothing, baby cot protectors or other clothing, used as a complete structure without any limitations to design or shape, in any application. The present invention would be of assistance in dealing with the problem of uncontrollable discharge of urine, faeces or body fluid which is a universal problem in infants as well as patients, both young and old. The present invention further relates to an absorbent structure and more particularly to a compressed absorbent composite containing a mixture of viscose anid polyester in a needle felt form which absorbs large quantities of liquid; as detailed further. SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) RO/AU WO 2006/053373 PCT/AU2005/001700 2 Summary of the Invention The present invention disclosed herein is a reusable fabric construction that is made up of six layers. The formation of the layers in man made fibre and natural fibre blend enhances the efficiency of liquid absorption. Assuring 100% dry on surface. The layered absorbent core is used in incontinence underwear for adults and children, bed protectors, cot protectors, chair protectors, draw sheets, sanitary wear, breast pads, baby nappies, medical linen or clothing, the invented (multilayered) fabric construction is used as an attachment to any sort of underwear or any application as appropriate. Without any limitations to design or pattern. The present invention in any application assures 100% dry on surface. To enhance the comfort of the user at all times. The design of the present invention could be in any design or shape to suit any application as thinks fit. The present invention is introduced to the global market to overcome health and environmental problems. (re- use and reduce) The first layer or the top surface layer of the invented multilayered fibre construction (-C is of a 100% polyester flee/ fabric. Weight of 0 - 275 grams per sq meter. Of low to medium pile. In any colour as required to suite, appropriate applications. The second layer of the invented fibre construction applies as a barrier between the top surface and the absorbent layer. Thus preventing dampness to reach the top surface at any given time. The fabric which is a 100% polymer light weight padding. The weight of 0 250 grams per sq meter. SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) RO/AU WO 2006/053373 PCT/AU2005/001700 3 The third layer, which is the absorbent core. A combination of viscose and a polyester felted fabric. (Needle felt) The felted combination is in a range of weights measured to absorb liquid as per sq meter. The present invention uses appropriate weights without any limitations as required to the application. The felted structure is machine washable to 60 deg C. Thickness of 2.5 mm has a absorption capacity of 550%-770% ( 3 liters/sq meter) rate of spread 10-20 secs. Absorption speed of 9 seconds. . Washing shrinkage <3% and weight loss after 5 washes <2%. Composition of 70% polyester, 30% viscose. The felted structure does not have any limitations to the thickness. The fourth layer, which is a cellulose construction wit'.h qualities of an antibacterial and an odour resistant capability. The structure is used in hygienic kitchen cloths as an individual structure. Th'le present invention includes this structure to prevent odour and bacteria formation in all its applications. The fifth layer is the liquid impervious layer or the waterproof layer, which keeps the application leak proof at all times. The layer, which is treated with an antibacterial quoting to further enhance the application. The sixth layer is the last and outer layer of the present multilayered invention does not specify a material as it is decided by the application, whi;h could vary from one to another as most appropriate. SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) RO/AU WO 2006/053373 PCT/AU2005/001700 4 Description of the drawings. No 10 - I' layer of the present invention. 100% polyester of low to medium pile flee~'t. No 11 - 2 nd layer of the present invention 100% polymer padding of low to medium weight. Nol2 - 3 rd layer of the present invention viscose and polyester needle felt. The main absorbent core. No 13 -4 ' layer of the present invention the antibacterial and odour resistant cellulose construction. No 14 - 5 t h layer of the present invention the liquid iimprvious layer or the water proof layer with an antibacterial treatment to the surface. No 15 -6h layer the final outer cover of appropriate fabric structure. No 26 -The multilayered structure ( 5 layers together) is used in any shapeor design to suit the desired end product. SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) RO/AU

Claims

Claims:
The present invention of a 6 layer fabric construction is used to form an absorbent structure, that is used in many applications such as incontinence under wear for adults and children, bed protectors, baby cot protectors, draw sheets, chair protectors, sanitary products, breast pads, nappies, absorbs, medical clothing, or medical material, the first five layers together form the absorbent, 100% dry on surface, antibacterial and odour resistant structure, without any limitations to the shape, design or method in use, thus claiming novelty and priority to the present invention.
