Abstract

A humidifier comprises a number of evenly distributed nozzles (1) for the humidification of air, which spray water in the direction of flow (4) of the air. Each nozzle (1) is provided with a device (2) for spreading the spray stream (3) generated by the nozzle (1). Said spray stream spreading device (2) is embodied to partly divert the gas flow in the vicinity of the nozzle so that a pressure reduction occurs between the spray stream (3) and the spray stream spreading device (2), by means of which the spray stream (2) is spread. The spray stream spreading device (2) permits the air to partly flow through the above such that the flowing air at least reduces a wetting of the side (21) thereof facing the spray stream (3). Said humidifier achieves a rapid and even distribution of the water particles sprayed from the nozzles (1) without a loss of a lot of fluid on the spray steam spreading device (2).
