Abstract

A cylinder (01) of a rotary printing press has a respective bearer ring (04, 08) on the front face of its ink ball (02), the outer surface (07, 12) of said ring, for example, rolling off the outer surface of the bearer ring of a co-operating cylinder. The outer surface (07, 12) of said bearer ring (04, 08) consists of a corrosion-resistant, high-tensile, martensitic cold work steel.
