Abstract

The invention relates to a screw-type cap consisting of a plastic material and comprising a cap bottom (1) which covers the opening of the container (9), a shell (2) with an inner thread (3) and a sealing strip (4) for creating a seal between the opening area (8) of the container (9) and the screw-type cap, said sealing strip being situated on the cap bottom or on the shell. The sealing strip (4) has a bead-like thickened section (5) at the end facing away from the cap bottom (1). When the container (9) is closed with the screw-type cap, this thickened area is jammed between a sealing ring bead (6) and the inside of the opening area (8) of the container (9).
