Abstract

The present invention relates to a transport device for transporting sheets ( 2 ) in a plant comprising a high-speed printer which is provided for printing the sheets ( 2 ) or a continuous web which is cut to sheets ( 2 ). The transport device includes at least one vacuum means ( 9 b) having at least one vacuum opening ( 9 c , 9 d) and at least one conveyor belt ( 9 a) with vacuum holes ( 9 e) which communicates with the vacuum opening ( 9 c , 9 d), and a vacuum generating device (VA) for generating a vacuum in the vacuum opening ( 9 c , 9 d) of the vacuum means ( 9 b) and in the vacuum holes ( 9 e) of the conveyor belt ( 9 a) such that said conveyor belt ( 9 a) can engage and transport the sheets ( 2 ). The vacuum generating device comprises a compressor-air generating device ( 9 f) from which compressed air is fed or supplied to at least one ejector ( 9 g) such that a jet (D) of compressed air therein generates a vacuum in the vacuum openings ( 9 c , 9 d) in the vacuum means ( 9 b) and the vacuum holes ( 9 e) in the conveyor belts ( 9 a). The ejector ( 9 g) is located in a vacuum means ( 12 and/or 13 ) around which the conveyor belt ( 9 a) runs.
